Hacking MT-Card - Firmware Released

Its not speculation, people just dont want to see whats right in front of their eyes, all carts besides GW are from the same source, MT is a rebrand as the existing clones wont be updatable, Would you as a team, if you epic failed ?? release a V2.0 cart and expect everyone to buy it, No, you wouldnt, if it was me i would rename it , add a picture of a shark, hand solder the carts myself, use gateways 1.1 launcher as a base, change the menu and splash screen, and lastly employ someone thats actually knows what they are doing to code in some support for a new feature, but most importantly i would market it as having features it doesnt actually have yet....

Although it's obvious that MT copied a lot of their code from GW, I don't think we can say with any certainty that they are the same team as another clone. I mean, even the R4i/3DSLink/etc have more complete features available...why would they just trash all of those with the MT instead of keeping them AND adding multi-rom?

It's kind of not a good idea to buy from aliexpress. Just because places have it first does not necessarily mean it's reliable.

Not certain about this but I heared the source code for 1.2 had been leaked.....making it a more logical base to add features into if you don't want to decompile 2.0

This may not be the case but looking at it, it seems like the 1.2 release with bits patched into which seems to of broken some other bits. Now considering they where saying they had this feature and that feature a few weeks back why suddenly drop back to an old version, in the video they release they had save editors and crap in it( not that they showed anything except multi rom), surely it would be better to release a beta with most features than a very basic old version with one feature

Idk I'm getting a bit worried this will just end up another one of these yeah we will release anything gateway says they will.......but ermmmmm after they release first ;p

Yep, there's a chinese shop that told me that they had it already but they got only a few PCBs which they had to send to the preorders.

I am not a Gateway fan or anything. I just want to clear some things.
Gateway is far superior that the other flashcards because they have all the features that everyone needs,compatibility etc and soon! Multi-Rom,Dumping function etc.
Go and make an other thread if you want to fight over the clones.You are just filling the thread with useless posts.

Did I make any inaccurate claims regarding the R4i or any other cards? You're calling me a fanboy for slamming a user who conveniently joined this september and has been spreading a lot of BS regarding any cart that isn't gateway.

Can you tell me what I said that makes me a fanboy exactly? The mere fact that I'm defending a brand from defamation?

If I came off as calling you a fanboy, I apologize as that was not the actual intention. Just because you joined before us doesn't exactly mean you're always gonna be right. I'm just trying to say that fighting and endless bickering hasn't solved anything, ever. All it does is piss off the staff who have to clean up these forums.

I guess this is just what happens when people get restless. There's no new news to speak about, and since we only have one team working on updates, the 3DS scene is moving very slowly right now. All people can do in the meantime is bicker and speculate. Not many threads worth following at the moment.

All I'm saying is that r4i hasn't done anything at all so far to prove they are worth defending, the definition of a fanboy is someone who defends something despite all evidence that the company isn't as wonderful as they believe, gateway made the firmware, R4 ripped it off at the very least that's a legitimate reason for them to get bashed

I would like to state that, after all this I'm pretty awesome so Thanks for agreeing with me

Seeing as this is the MT-Card firmware release thread, we'll recap a little here to the best of our ability to make sure it's available for people to see in case they come to the 4th page without having to follow through with all the lovely conversations.

MT-Card (lovingly called the "empty card" because their card only supports Multi-rom but nothing above 4.5)

There are several postings around popular DS related sites that state that MT is a r4 team card, but that hasn't been proven and the only thing it shows is that its a clone, so it's not that important to note.

The Gateway is a card that is awaiting its latest firmware update sometime before "early this year" ends whenever that may be, cause they might not even be using a gregorian calendar.

We're all speculating the if/when Gateway finally makes its 2.0 final, all others (especially Empty-Card) will make their updates so that they can look like they've done something cool too.

So far the only thing we can say is Gateway is the first 3ds card, and MT is the first 3ds multi-rom card. Of the 2 it is our personal opinion that Gateway has made the significantly better card because it ACTUALLY works, as opposed to empty card that shows only basic functionality which most people write-off because their "favorite cards" mainly being pokemon or whatever don't work well....


How's that for a synopsis? anyone want to comment on anything thats an opinion? DO NOT SAY I'M NOT AWESOME BECAUSE WE ALL KNOW THAT I AM! LOOK AT MY CHARMANDER I'M ADORABLE!!!!

I agree it is indeed unproductive. I think it would be best to stay on topic in each thread but that's never the case in this forum. We could go thread by thread but you'll quickly see it's the usual suspects. Do you know if the mods are active in this forum? They were back in the DS and GBA days and would regularly remove off topic and trolling comments.

Lastly, while I may be wrong I find there's a sense of self-entitledment/trolling amongst some vocal gateway users that isn't seen from other flashcard users (look at 2 posts above mine). Coincidentally this is the main reason I didn't go for a gateway card even though I wouldn't mind supporting the original team.
In retrospect I'll probably go for their gen2 hardware since I shouldn't penalize them for something they have no control over.

Absolutely, I know that staff has to come here very frequently to clean up the mess that usually arises. Just take a look at the first few pages of the Hacking and Homebrew forum. It's a mess. As I get most of my chips as review units, I never had to really worry about pay, but based on what I have observed with these chips, only the Gateway is doing some real work.

You're also not wrong with the self-entitlement thing too. People here tend to bitch for anything. Feature is announced? ITS NOT COMING FAST ENOUGH, or ITS NOT WHAT I WANTED. Firmware gets released, ITS ALL BUGGY, IT DOESN"T WORK WHY RELEASE THIS SHIT AS A BROKEN PRODUCT, when in reality, its the bitching and complaining that caused the early release in the first place, further compounded when users think that even though they paid, they deserve to be entitled to things. I understand, you guys paid your money, but there's a difference between customer service, and bashing these teams for things outside of user control.

I tried to focus comments to single thread, I told users to post to the correct place many times.
but it always ends fight-fest about who is right, who is clone, who is better, conspiracy theory, etc.

I am for free speech and let users say what they want, if they are angry they have the right to tell their mind.
so I tend to not delete/restrict post on content. it's not dictatorship where only knowledgeable users can post.

until now I closed threads and asked users to post to the correct place and stay ontopic.
But it seems it's not possible to reason users.
I'm now deleting posts when I see fights and offtopics. I don't care who said what, if there are legit reply buried inside which got deleted, it's your fault. I won't edit posts one by one to clean them.

I'm not 100% online, I sleep, I work, and when I come back I see tons of offtopic to clean. It's sometime just easier to close the full threads.
it's sad, some topics have good comments and ongoing subject.
