Hacking Installing tickets? - Virtual Console

I have a legal copy of a virtual console game from another one of my wii consoles but as you probably figured out, I can't play it on any wii I please. The game cannot be emulated via homebrew emulators. I know that in order for these games to be allowed to run on any system, the system itself has to have a "ticket" installed on it to basically serve as the key to unlock the game to verify it was purchased and legit. My question is how do I install this ticket to play my legal VC game, and would I have to downgrade my firmware to accomplish it?

You need to dump the vc title from your wii, then patch the console id out of the ticket. Then pack it as a wad and install on your other wii. You could back a nand backup with bootmii, extract that nand with nand extract or showmiiwads. Then patch the ticket and pack it as a wad with showmiiwads.

From 0x1D8 to 0x1DB in the wad's ticket is the 4-byte Console ID associated with the wad.

Either null it out, or change it to the Console ID of your new Wii, repack the wad, and it should then install fine.

use wadpacker , nusd and a bunch of .bat files to pack your own smash bros wad to install on any wii

(probably hard to find now though)

found these crappy instructions on a Japanese site

1.wwpacker184 to install it.
 
2 goes into the installed folder. Common-key.bin will put in the folder. (Also install it by googling)
 
3 go to the folder _wwpacker-Custom.bat files.
 
4, as modified by the use Wiki changer wad file allows _wwpacker-Custom.bat drag on.
 
5 MS-DOS window opens.
 
6 Do not touch anything else in the DOS window five times in succession by pressing Enter will.
 
7 y after pressing Enter after selecting five times, press and hold ENTER.
 
8 Subsequently jureureuk went up window will appear and then choose terms.

Why would you need NUSD? wwpacker should be able to remove the console lock (don't forget that you also need to download common-key.bin), however the instructions you give are wrong.

You drag the WAD onto _wwpacker-FakeSign.bat, type 11100 [Enter] Y [Enter], patched WAD can be installed on any console (of the same region). The WAD is Trucha Signed, so you have to install it with a vulnerable IOS or cIOS (use your choice of WAD manager or MMM to accomplish that). Let me know how this goes, it should work for you.

reasoning - being picky: use NUSD to get the files to verify the dump was good and only use the ticket from the dump
