A person who is very deeply USA southern oriented, still has a VERY thick southern accent using a racial slur against black people. That's surprising to Food Network?

What's stranger about this is the fact she claims she didn't even use the term recently at all, and possibly she hasn't used it in many many years. Yet she's being fired over it now.

Don't get me wrong, racial slurs of any kind are very bad, but I think being fired over something that someone potentially did years ago is kind of shaky.
