Currently I own both a DS Lite and PSP 3000. For both handhelds I also have grip enhancers. Anyways with the gateway card coming out soon I'm getting ready to purchase an XL unit. But I would ideally like to have a grip enhancer too (as I have rather large hands, and play for long periods of time). I found two items to choose from:

I was wondering if anyone here had experience with either gripper (or if there are other XL grips available which I haven't seen found which you have good experience with). Thanks.

Edit: For the DS Lite I own nerf armor and was prepared to buy the XL version of the armor except I heard about scratching issues. Is this an issue which can be avoided (and does it just effect the case itself, and not the screen).

get the 3DS XL CIRCLE PAD PRO insted so u have a nice grip and the extra buttons for the games that need it

That possibility actually came up in my google search for grips. Problem is that the R trigger for the circle pad pro only works with games programmed with it in mind. So other games would force you to use the original trigger (which i would imagine might be uncomfortable). Am I off base in assuming that?

Have they made a battery extender grip for the XL yet? I LOVE the one for my 3DS.

Nope, you are right. I'm using the circle pad pro for my XL and it's quite annoying when the game doesn't support it. Luigi's Mansion, for example :(

i find you have to modify the grips because theres always some little problem with it.
all the nerf grips are too top heavy, and have one side exposed for access to the stylus or SD card slot. so heres what i do with the Nerf grips,

i carefully pry apart the top cover, separating the nerf foam part from the top plastic attachment. takes awhile. then i cut off a piece from the top nerf foam and glue it to the side thats exposed.

now i have a nerf case thats not as top heavy, and completely covers both sides, although covering the stylus port.

Honestly I was completely satisfied with the DS Lite Nerf grip (without modifying it at all). Did you purchase the 3DS XL nerf grip? And if so did you experience the scratching issues I've read a lot about?
