Well, crap. I called Best Buy, and you know what happened? I asked if they were selling Animal Crossing New Leaf for Nintendo 3DS. The first guy said, "What? Animals? We don't sell pets." and hung up. I called back, asked again, and a different guy said, "Hold on, I'll go check." I was on hold for 20 minutes. He came back and said, "What did you want again?" I then screamed at him, and hung up. I tried again. Same guy answered, and told me to "bug off". Called again, this time a girl answered. She heard my question, and said, "uhhhhh....." and hung up. I then called one last time, with my speakers blasting the Animal Crossing Gamecube theme into the phone's receiver. The man who took my call screamed, and hung up. Best Buy will NOT be getting my money.

Something similar to that happened to me once. I called Best Buy and asked if they had Fire Emblem Awakening. The person who answered said "... I don't know what that is" and then hung up. They have not gotten a single penny from me since

Hi! They say you can register up to 32 bestfriends here. As bestfriends, you can visit each others' town anytime online, leave notes/letters and such. I would love to have some Animal Crossing friends here on temp. I'm from the Philippines so yeah different timezones, maybe I'm awake when the other part of the world is sleeping. But in my line of work, I can leave my 3DS/game open like 24/7 so you can come in and out of my gate anytime. If anyone wants to add me. Please send me a message of your fc so I can add you back. My fc is 2466 1456 4166. Thanks

Up up and away~

Nope, Jim Sterling doesn't just hand out 9's like candy.

>Good: A solid game that definitely has an audience. Might lack replay value, could be too short or there are some hard-to-ignore faults, but the experience is fun. Check out more reviews or the Destructoid score guide.

>There's plenty of fun and silliness to be had in Animal Crossing: New Leaf, and obsessive fans will likely find the extra content, however fundamentally familiar, to be endearing and laudable. It's a good little game, but it's nowhere near as special as it used to be, and those hoping for more flexibility and interaction from their new political careers will feel let down by what is, ostensibly, just more goalpost shifting and further excuses to get you to shake bananas off trees.

How is it a bad review?

Wow! It looks to me like that reviewer is totally missing out, I'm afraid! :'D

This guy acts as if the only thing there is to do in Animal Crossing is grind for money until the cows come home. I understand that Animal Crossing's "get rich quick" schemes can involve substantial tedium, but if the reviewer didn't like the ol' Bell grind, he really should have followed the "no goals" idea that the series is heralded for. There's loads of things to do in Animal Crossing besides just grind for money, and many of them reward you Bells for your efforts anyway! :P

The reviewer also just barely touches upon the game's expanded online/multiplayer functions, not to mention the delightful new music and visuals. (As a matter of fact, Animal Crossing: New Leaf might be the first game in the series where the developers have bothered to update the visuals in ANY substantial way. Just compare New Leaf to the Wii version of Animal Crossing: The added shaders and detail make a world of a difference!)

And above all, for those who haven't yet delved into Animal Crossing and were thinking about jumping in, don't let the Destructoid review put you off. It seems that much of the gripes were based on New Leaf being the "same old Animal Crossing". Lucky for you newbies, that won't matter in the least to you! ;)

Edit: And besides, 70 ain't so bad. Animal Crossing just isn't a good cup of tea for some! Still, I feel like this review was glossing over some of the good stuff that those with an eye for detail would really dig.
