Ok, success on usb GX loader on vWii. For some reason wii flow isn't working correctly, it just gives me 10 copies of each game and crashes when going to start any one of them. How do I install a channel for the GX Loader which works great. The more I read, the more confused I am.

I think in forwarder thread there was a working version. For me, had to use +/- to choose 249 to start the loader;-).
I have the .dol in apps on sd card, run loader from start of hbc. Using hbc filter myself but same as hbc.

Is WiiU (vWii mode) only hackable by these games: LEGO Indiana Jones, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, LEGO Batman, Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World or Lego Star Wars?

it's not a blog thread neither a piracy debate thread. there are other places for such discussion, if you start talking about that here, look at other thread how many pages it could generate in little time.

Please keep this thread for progress and questions about the actual hacking process. (even though process questions should better go into the actual hacking guides, not into a progress thread)

i used wadder to make my boot dols into wads do you think it will work for me in vwii with the same success i had with the first wii console ?

i know what people say about wads but i still use them, i got a old wii with boot2 and a back up of the nand incase i got a bad wad, i always test new wads out on before i use wad on any other wii, if tester are not using wads like this with a wii they can restore than they should try to use boot dols instead of wads when ever possible

i have bricked 1 wii this way and i did not have a back up of the nand, its in my closet in case i need parts, i heard i could unbrick it by installing a chip but wii's are so cheap its not worth doing all that

reason i want to use wads is i mod wii's and people can easily copy boot dols from apps folder, and im sure wadder has increased the likey hood of me modding more consoles over the years and i plan on using it on the vwii unless i find a reason not to




i think i did read on this site about not to try to install priloader on vwii because it becomes part of the menu, and will cause vwii to brick on boot, so im thinking im not going to make the new wii flow and usb loader boot dols into wads and try this on vwii unless i find more information about this being safe for vwii

I can't seem to connect to the internet in the vwii. I've connected wirelessly through the Wii U's ssettings but when I go into vwii all connections seem to stop. Can't play online in any game and none of the apps can download anything, I also can't use the browser

Something interesting was a twitter by Comex. To paraphrase, he mentioned waiting for linux for the Wii U (on others to do that part or something). I was looking around and believe their release may install linux. A guess, but the twitter is on Comex's twitter feed if you look. Too lazy to copy/paste/link right now.

Not happening anyway. Without access to Wii U drive, cannot copy/backup Wii U discs. Won't have access, ever, and really unless firmware is hacked, no Wii U backups will work either. Even if you find ways to backup games outside of Wii U, good luck playing them without USB drives for Wii U games, access to the Wii U drive, and access to the Wii U nand. It does not truly matter who this offends (they will know) but will all make sense in good time. It makes sense, given goals, BUT sort of comes up short for my purposes. Nothing else to ask, so felt the need to get this off my chest. To me, the whole "Cloak and daggers" game is silly. Talk of backups and other things are irrelevent. I don't truly care anymore, may not even come back here. I only wanted to run backups off USB drive. Bought over 20 Wii games and loved that feature. If anyone wants backups, better get going on unlocking the Wii U yourselves;-) If you want emulators with full hardware access then enjoy linux on top of vWii. Hardware access minus nand, nand key, access to Wii U drive, etc. If you want to design your own games, and maybe have some more powerful emulators, then the release will be awesome for you.

--Doubt I will regret this tomorrow; once I learned of these things (unless GROSS misinformation), there was nothing else for me to know. Public talks have been quoted before AND talks I thought were private were also quoted before.

--Edit again; SOME on here know of this already and are either privy to this information or will say, "Man he was played with that misinformation." If true, no loss, and if not true, time will tell. Still games I like, and guess I do it the old fashioned way (changing discs, preying to God I don't scratch them). Just a big let down to me. Ethical to allow emulators and pirated games (old but still pirated ROMS), unlock system by circumventing some Nintendo locks, YET, leave it there. I think rationalizing it, it is more ethical, gives pride, and is STILL cool and great work. Just expected full unlocks like PSP, Wii, 360, PS3, etc. Those systems were not killed by full unlocks. if anything they sold more HARDWARE and still, MANY buy games and lots of us like legitimate backups. It is still wrong to NOT allow one backup of a game you buy (look up law). Anyway, done on this topic now. Found the info, OR misled, time will tell. If somebody would lie about this, why trust them anyway in the future? If true, like I said, going to come out eventually and if true, nothing else to ask who told me this so calculated venting here.

Ray, you know you can purchase a good number of the Wii U game library on the Nintendo store online. Thus allowing you a scratch free version of the game, and even an ability to download a 'backup' copy (assuming you still have you Nintendo ID).

hi, So i'm in the states and want to get bbc iplayer working. Obviously it hasn't been released on wii-u yet but can i run the old wii version on the v-wii? In the past i have used iplayer on my xbox 360 by running a cable from my PC using 'internet connection sharing' . The wii U doesn't have a hard line and I was wondering if i could set it up wirelessly. I tried 'internet-connection setup - proxy settings' on the wii-u but i get 'error code:103-2103' and no joy. My router doesn't support custom firmware so i can't use DD-WRT. I am using hidemyass vpn proxy. Any ideas are appreciated. thx
