Has this ever been attempted? I've tried googling and searching but I only get results for the exact opposite (using classic controller as GC controller).

I'm attempting at making a portable Wii and I want it to be mainly run from the GC controller. It boots into CFG Loader and that can be completely controlled with it. However, it'd be nice if there was a way to run Wii games and emulate the classic controller with a GC controller.

Edit: Bah after second thought, this probably should have went in the "Wii Hacking" sub forum.. my bad.

I suppose that would be a wiimote attachment huh? I guess that could work.. it'd just be nice if there was some kind of mod that allowed GC port 4 or something to be classic controller.

Ehm Virtual Console games support the GC controller, as do most emulators, probably all of them.
What do you need this for?
The main problem with not having any Wii Remote with the Wii is starting the VC/GC game you want to play with a GC controller, which is only a problem if you want to launch it with the original System Menu.

Because I want to be able to run Wii games that only support classic controller with a GC controller. It looks like I'll still need the Wiimote in order to do that (with extenmote, anyway) so I may as well just use a classic controller :/ oh well.

Hmm I did not know there were games that are supporting Classic Controller but not the GC controller.
That reminds me, I need to look into playing the Metal Slug Anthology with a Classic Controller again.

Oh sorry, I didn't read your first post that much, gave only attention to your title.

But let me quote Maxternal an similiar matter, in this thread someone wanted to use the Wii U Pro controller instead classic controller pro

It would probably involve adding a new BlueTooth module and patching it into a WAD and installing. It would also have to add code to make the translation from one protocol to another.

Seems like something that could work ... but that's all the theory I have to offer at this moment.

I don't think anyone wrote I Gamecube to classic controller driver/emulator
