So I'm getting black 2 soon and I'm pretty psyched. I hear it's just as addicted as any other pokemon game and that the new story is pretty good. I'm curious, does it look bad on the 3DS compared to the regular DS? Or is it barely noticeable? I'm sorry if this has been asked and answered already.

There is a little of quality loss while playing DS games on 3DS,
but the screen is much better, and on a 3DS XL this quality loss is barely noticeable.

3DS XL also correct a lot of minor desing and facturing mistakes compared to normal 3DS.
I've played Pokémon Black 2 about 5 hours on my brother's 3DS XL,
and it's a unique and amazing experience.

Said that, I highly recommend you into playing Pokémon B/W2 on a 3DS XL

I think you guys are under the plesebo effect here, Ive played on my DSL and 3DS and honestly, other then the simpler movement thanks to the Circle Pad, I dont see much difference. But, hey, whatever floats your boat! Either way it looks good o n the 3DS!

Same here! Only thing I'm playing DS games on the 3DS is the sound boost and circle pad

Try playing Mario Kart DS on both DS Lite and 3DS.
The difference is huge. there is a true quality loss.

There is a simple explanation for this quality loss: Upscaling!
The 3DS resolution on both screens is bigger than DS,
that way, unless you're playing in 1:1 scale, the 3DS will have to upscale the image,
which results in a quality loss.
There are some filters to minimize this quality loss,
but it, obviously, still happens

What does that have to do with anything...

What do you mean?
The OP asked how DS games looked on 3DS, if there is a quality loss.
You said there is not much difference, and I showing why you're wrong, and that there really is a quality loss.

I dont know, I dont see it with this one. Any other game I would probably agree with you, but I cant say I see any difference in this case.

Some places that use 3D models,
especially the pokémon center,
we can see a clear difference from DS to 3DS.
Everyone and everything looks more pixelated,
especially Nurse Joy and Medal Guy.

Some Trees, the Rollercoaster,
the statues, pokemons outside battles, and a lot more stuff;
all of them look worse on 3DS too

I just checked it out, call me crazy but the models actually look better on the 3DS, other then that it seems to be the same. Except areas where your lower and theres a cliff above so the camera rescales the sprites to a different size. That actually looks alot better on the DS Lite.
