Hi so I had owned Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn but lost the CD. I recently learned how the Mod my Wii and decided to download Radiant Dawn again.

The problem is every single torrent I find is in this asinine Multi5 format or something that has it split up into 39 parts, literally.

What i mean is, I torrented the game and got the files like this:
Fi-Em-Ra_Da_pal_wtrz.part01.rar
Fi-Em-Ra_Da_pal_wtrz.part02.rar
Fi-Em-Ra_Da_pal_wtrz.part03.rar
... all the way up to...
Fi-Em-Ra_Da_pal_wtrz.part39.rar

I want/need to play this on a soft modded wii using USB uploader GX.
I have downloaded other games in just a single .iso file and in .wbfs formats. I turn the .iso files into wbfs files using a different program.

I don't know how to turn these 39 files into one working game!!!!
I tried extracting the files to thier .iso versions but there are obviously 39 of them still. Its also annoying because the extracted iso files all seem to have the same name. I converted the first into a wbfs file and tried it on my wii but for some reason it only works in fuzzy black and white.

Why the hell do people split this game!?! How I can I get it to work? Does anyone know where i can get the full game in 1 iso file or a single .wbfs?

Please help! I wanna play this game again someday.

*** I KNOW WHAT WINZIP/WINRAR IS AND TRIED TO USE IT, PLEASE READ WHOLE POST***

use winrar.
Or 7zip which does not need a licence. Right click Fi-Em-Ra_Da_pal_wtrz.part01.rar and extract it will form 1 iso.
I did that and just like i said it only works in fuzzy black and white.

This is not a problem of me not knowing what winzip/winrar/7z is

Why did they give me 39 files anyways if i only needed to unzip the first? (Which again I did and tried but only came out fuzzy black and white on my wii)

Let me also clarify I have other games working perfectly with USB loader GX

black and white is probably due to it being pal. u can force pal 60 or ntsc. that might fix the problem.

most games r split among several different rar files due to the upload/download limitations of upload sites for free users. the same series of files will become torrents as well. it also helps with data corruption so that a user doesn't have to redownload the entire game if one rar file has a crc issue.

Ok....sounds like something i could try...
Is there a simple way to "force pal 60 or ntsc"?
Is that in the USB uploader settings for the game or something? or will i need a new program to alter the iso or wbfs?

I've never used that backup manager, but it probably has the option in the game's settings. I know cfg usb loader does as well as neogamma.

if it is as laughably simple as that why did the game come in 39 parts when i only need to unzip the first one?

I'll also try doing what you say. I hope it works but even if it does it wouldn't explain the useless 38 other files that comes with every other torrent i find for FE Radiant Dawn (labeled simpley with misinformative ascending parts, not regions, languages or countries)

Those games are split up in compressed parts. Makes uploadig largers file less vulnarable to errors. And they are easier manageble this way.
By making small chunks.Compressing and decompressing will be faster.
Uploading will be easier as some host have a file size limit.
See it as a jigsaw puzzle
Also when erros show up you can easily repair them using .PAR files.
Winzip, winrar etc, have these options just for this purpose.
A small percentage is being prepared mainly for being able to repair eventual broken parts.

You can image that being able to repair a small part ( one missing or broken jigsaw piece..)off a larger file is is a lot quicker than having to upload the complete, bigger file gain.
Uploading the repair part alone would be enough to get the uploaded file complete.
This is the reason files are being split.

Unpacking the first file of a puzzle ( part1 etc) .is automated is the various compress programs.
Winzip etc will look for the next file by itself (part2, part3 etc..), unpacks it and makes it a whole again.( it makes the puzzle for you )
You can check before hand if there are errors in your files with quickpar if repair files are provided ( .PAR )
quick par can repair it automaticly for you.
If the files are missing, quickpar tells you wich ones they are and you can try to get them separate to complete your repair.

As a rule, newer files don't need repiaring most of the time.
Older files ( part of) are being depricated from hosting servers and reapiring broken files becomes more apparent.

There another kind of slpitting wich consist of .001, 002 etc files. You can use Hjsplit to combine those files first, before they can be unpacked.
once again this has nothing to do with the game.
it's how uploading and sharing / compressing works for larger files, it's common use now for several years.
99% on newsservers present their files this way.

the reason your game is black and white is because you have a ntsc region tv trying to display a PAL game.
Maybe your tv has a Pal setting wich wouls solve your problem. Or you can try using your usb loader to force ntsc video mode onto you PAL games to make them compatible with your tv.
If you have a flatscreen, try using component cables as these will solve these problem when displaying in 480p ( progressive )
Progressive is the native display method on lcd and plasma screens and is not region bound.
EDIT: Sorry for the typos...

As stated above, the game is huge, is broken into 39 chunks of data, which winrar / winzip / 7zip all need to create the full iso of the game.
yes, you can click on the one part, but all the programs will search for all the other parts in order to create the iso.
and stay away from torrents, your isp can trace your moves with them.
FYI....

Long complicated story short, are you trying to say when I unzip the first file it combines all the other 38 parts?

FYI....

I know of no other way to find and download wii games like this. With my slow downloading speeds direct download is not really an option because i'd have to move/shut down my laptop before it ever finishes. Since torrents can start and stop it's better even though it takes me a week.

Also it still frustrates me that the game came like this. I've found other larger games like SSBB in one simple iso file but appearently this game can only be found like this.

You need to look into using jdownloader, or Mipony, they are programs you install on your PC
to download these type of games that come in parts.
They will automatically DL one after another of games in parts (.rar) files, so you can pick up where it left off
if you need to shut down.

Dont be frustrated, thats just how it is nowadays.
Try downloading a PS3 game like FFXIII, which is 55GB.......

Newsservers downloads workd the same way, free to stop and contineu downloads. ONLY these will not eat up your bandwith, and are alway MAX speed.
Nearly every download comes in this way....it's common sense nowadays. Don't be pissed when you've waited a week to get your download and it does'nt work.
You will then remeber this conversation. Also your Isp can track you down usin gthe torrent method. If you are breaking the law, wich you were, you can get procecuted easily= bye,bye life....
Anonymous up and downloading, ( again newsservers, ssl encryption) is safe.
I have warned and explained the best I could, but english is not my native tonque.

You've asked questions because you thought in the wrong direction.
This should be in the pc section, because this is general computer knowledge and has nothing to do with wii games.

Actually in this specific instance I don't think I am breaking the law. I owned and fully paid for the game. I still have the case, instructions and receipt (i keep them in the case). I did lose the CD a while ago though. I didn't back it up directly from the CD I owned but I do legally own the game, Its a screwed up world if I ever got in trouble for getting a backup of something I owned in a slightly different way.

Just like I own the world of warcraft CDs and expansions but with my account I can download the game right from their website instead of using my CDs. That is off thier website but its essentially the exact same thing as I see it.

But if i am breaking the law I guess i'll have to delete it all and find another way to play the game I already own.

I do think this post belongs here though because the end result is that I wanted it to work on my wii. I'm sure people who have hacked thier Wii had to figure this out at one point but not all computer people would know what to do beyond unzipping the files, which I already know how to do and said right away that I did.
