Hardware 3DS XL Worth It?

If you got a 3DS, you should trade it in and get this. Better ergonomics, bigger sexy screen and better buttons.

And bigger pockets required to tote it around comfortably. Unless of course, you want to hold it everywhere you go.

Considering I play my handhelds at home the vast majority of the time, that isn't a concern for me. It's almost the same size as the Vita.

I'm not too worried about the carting it around with me, i have the DSi XL and those larger screens certainly adds a difference to the gaming on it.

This is my answer for the person that made/began This Blog what would be the point of upgrading at all if you just want use DS2 on 3DS XL I mean its not going to be any fun unless you use actual 3DS Game cards or at least Eshop until an actual 3DS flashcart is released I mean really come on its like wasting money unless you plan to use those extra features and besides there will be what I like to call OFFICIAL 3DS ROMS ANYWAY without all of the confusing methods of setting up a flashcart or adding roms but Thats just my view of things.

It's the glossy finish, I think. It makes it look more sleek.

There are good and bad things about the glossy top.

The good? Definitely makes the set look more classy and elegant. For such a small screen, it sorta also makes you concentrate on the screen, making you immersed in your game (that's how I feel).

Bad? FINGARPRINTZ. I hate this. It smudges the top all over and I can't possibly clean all the time.

I'd prefer matte any day. Although its lesser classy, but definitely far less hassle.

That's why I postponed my order. They are all horrible but should be sorted out in a few weeks/US launch.

So screen scratching starts of as dots? Don't have good picture (too hard to take), but mine had to go back as it had two lines of dots on the upper screen and a single dead pixel. Figured it was just a dodgy screen, as all pictures I've seen on the issue, it's a clear solid scratch line.

I got a black/silver XL and I have to agree it looks great. The new screens are great and it doesn`t look blocky at all. Very nice and DS games look way better on it as well!

One question: I`ve noticed that the screens on the XL are not as bright and a little yellowish when compared to the normal 3DS. Now I couldn`t really see on your pictures if yours are the same but is this normal? When things are in colour you don`t notice anything but on the home screen it is very yellowish on the XL in comparison to the 3DS!

Base on the 3ds, I'm guessing it a individual thing rather than across the board thing. If it bothers you much then try to get it
replace.

Some people have yellowish 3ds screens too.

The speakers I don't give a fuck. If I'm playing at home I might as well plug in some earphones.
As for the scratched screen I'll just put a microfiber cloth, same as current.

I'm more worried about the dead pixels issue. That's why I'll hold for a week or two.
