Hey forum buddies. I'm having this weird issue with WiiMC where, every time I try to load a data disc via the internal drive or external USB, the system crashes. Has anybody else experienced this issue? What did you do to solve it?

i moved away from wiimc just for this reason. got tiered of the crashing or not even showing my usb device. i'm using mplayerce with wiiflow. an got to say it's sweet. now that i can see covers an haven"t had to worry about code crapping.( though this is more for usb loading off the hard drive.)

Does MPlayerCE have data disc support? WiiMC seems very full featured but this code crashing stuff is silly. This is the first time in a long time that I have had problems with data disc.

A little bit of copy/paste from the WiiMC thread as this is now my current situation :(

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

HELP! WiiMC just screwed up my disc channel! Here are the chain of events...

1) I open WiiMC and was given a update message
2) after updating WiiMC I tried a data disc
3) at first the app was freezing every time i tried the first disc so i switched to another
4)Now the app tells me that the disc is not supported
5)Not the app says that this Wii does not have DVD support (Bullshit, I use CISOCorp as my main loader AND my Wii is old as dust)
6) My DVD drive disappears from the listed media sources
7) I restart my Wii and every time there's a disc in it now I get a error message!
8) Fuuuuuuuuu! really?! WTF?! I haven't had a issue with data disc until recently, now thanks to this app my disc channel is dead! NOT COOL!

It's a coincidence. You've been using burned discs on your drive, it's not a surprise that it died by now.

I replaced the lens less than two years ago. I doubt it's the lens, especially when everything was running smooth until last night. Either one of two things, The data cable connecting the drive to the motherboard is loose again and I need to reconnect it, or the disc channel software is botched up, both of which I cant figure out until Tuesday because I wont have the proper tools today. Besides. even if the lens had died on me, that's no excuse for the drive not showing at all in WiiMC. ULoader still picks up on the drive in the way that it can command the drive to spin but it gives me a DVD error -2.
