It's not a newer model (it's from 2007 or so), since I was able to install BootMii as boot2. And the error was (Not a Wii/GC disc).

I previously had the error 00053000 with DVD-R + no cIOS, in which I had to install d2x v6 with base IOS56 as cIOS using this:

http://www.wiihacks....tion-guide.html

Burned the iso using the native burning software on my Macbook Pro, which leads me to this.

I had the same errors and went to the link and loaded the d2x and after a few tweaks and swear words I got it to load and work.

Tried NFS on the run I think and works now

thanks

So you got the error (Not a Wii/GC disc)? Happy it worked out for you btw.

error 00053000 with DVD-R + no cIOS was the error I kept on getting and could not find a fix until I saw this guide.

Was well worth the try and it worked. I manged to get the only two games I have ever DL to work.

Going to see if I can load a few more to try

thanks again

When I update the Homebrew Channel, does that update bootmii and all that stuff? Basically, if I ran the update for the HBC, am I good to update to System Menu 4.3 (because the latest bootmii is compatible with it, apparently)?

I didn't uninstall and reinstall bootmii when the hackmii menu was up, should I have, and would that then make everything good for the update? I reran the HBC installer in the Hackmii menu, because it has an install option, not just an uninstall option, but I didn't think about uninstalling and reinstalling bootmii.

I had 214 Wii games on my HD already but just installed 4 more using cfg usb. The games show up fine in cfg usb but when I load the games on Joyflow or postloader, the 4 additional games don't show. I'm pretty sure that I read somewhere on here that you're supposed to delete a certain file after adding new games, but I can't for the life of me remember what it was & after trying to search for the answer I figured that someone must be able to tell me.

It took some searching, but I finally found the answer......... had to delete the disconfig.bin & the 4 games showed up.

I have the homebrew channel installed and am looking to be able to run backups. (system 4.3, boot2 is v4, IOS 58 rev 6176)
Before I get started and use Modmii, I just wanted to make sure I understand everything right so I don't brick my wii or install this and later realize it doesn't meet my needs. Please tell me if I am wrong on any of these points:

1. It's possible to backup the state of the wii before installing this, and at any point to revert back to the original wii, as if the hack was never installed (and possibly update through Nintendo) or also revert to the backup in the case of big errors or bricking.
2. Once the hack is installed, if a game doesn't work perfectly (as is apparently the case from seeing this forum), running original discs through the disc channel is still normal and perfect.
3. It's possible to run the games (both gamecube and wii) off of sd cards, usb flash drives, and usb hard drives, in addition to DVD-R's (GC can fit several on one, but using discs can damage the laser over time).
4. save games work - save games from playing off a copy will be readable later if played with an original disc from the disc channel (GC and Wii).
5. The chance of not being able to return the wii to a factory state is

I'd like to install the usb loader but I have a modded wii. Would I just do the normal steps or do I have to do something different? I dont know what chip is in there but it's like 3-4 years old

Also is it good if i Just follow this lifehacker guide?
http://lifehacker.co...rnal-hard-drive

My wii is version 3.1 U => Now it's 4.0. I have the homebrew channel installed now. How do I get about adding the usb loader?

Seeing as I can't get Mario Galazy running via NeoGamma, I am now resorting to using a USB loader to run it. I made the decision to use my iPod Classic as a hard drive as it has 100GB of spare room I don't immediately need. Unfortunately, all USB Loaders disconnect it when they boot and the iPod won't connect to it, even though disc use is enabled. Has anyone had success in doing this?

Edit: Tried disc mode to no avail. Is it possible to partition it on a Windows computer?

Hello, only recently registered for this forum, but I've been looking around for ages.
I have hacked my Wii, with the SmashStack exploit as mentioned in the 'Hacking' section of the Wii sub-forum.
I have installed the HomeBrew channel, and I have also installed the HomeBrew Browser, and, from there, I installed a few emulators and media players of my preference.

However, I am unsure on how to download and play Wii games. I have looked around on the internet, and I have seen numerous mentions of USB LoaderGX, and also Wiiflow.
After I explored these different sections, I was not able to find a definite guide on how to install these on my Wii (although, it is possible I wasn't looking hard enough.)

Some of these guides say that you need a specific cSI revision, while others appear to have conflicted views on whether LoaderGX is better than Wiiflow.

How do I, a newb in this Wii hacking scene (previously of the iOS jailbreaking community), attempt to play backed up Wii games, on my now softmodded Wii?

Can someone link me to a great, up to date, guide which will tell me everything? How do I check what revision of firmware I have? How I format my USB to support playback of these games? And will a 8GB memory stick suffice?

Thanks a lot for you help - I await your replies! By the way, my Wii is currently has 4.3E firmware.

I'm trying to load back ups of my game cube games as per http://gbatemp.net/topic/134631-wiigatorwaninkoko-gamecube-backup-launcher-tutorial/ I goto patch my mios with miospatcher and i get an error saying SD card: "hash error". When so I've been trying to attempt to load them using gamecube launcher 0.2, When I attempt to load the gamecube game i get a green flash and system reboot. I think the issue has to do with the hash error on miospatcher... is there a way around this

Are there any PC apps that can extract GC multi game iso discs straight to discex format?
Usb loader gx is able to do this on wii, but it's slow and will wear my drive out.

Alright so here is my nooby question of the day.
I have many pirated games on some burnt DVDs. I would like to backup some of these games to an SD card I own (the SD card is big enough to store a game) so that I can play them off the SD Card. The reason is because my flash drive I used to use somehow broke and I do not want to re-download these burnt games. (the games were on an older computer) So can anyone help?

1. don't pirate
2. ask an actual question (aka help with what?)

Well it's unfortunate that there are so many games out there that I just can't but because of my financial dilemma. So when I am able to buy a game I do. Piracy isn't a first choice. The question was how do I backup burnt DVDs so I can get the ISO to play off a flash drive
