WHOA SHIT.
This is... not exactly encouraging me to continue working on my disc channel hack project... and it looks like it is not encouraging XFlak to support it either.
As it stands, it is just a Proof of Concept showing off the possibilities of hacking the system menu to load up a homebrew program to handle all the disc handling stuff instead of the system menu doing it (rather crappily when compared to homebrew like Gecko OS and NeoGamma), or to get Disc Channel to do completely different things than disc loading (USB and DML etc.).
Now in saying that, I personally would love it if XFlak did one day decide to include it in ModMii's Download Page 2 section, HOWEVER, I believe it is not ready to be distributed like that yet. The hack itself can load up pretty much anything you tell it to, so it is kindof like an "ingredient" for a mod, rather than a complete mod in itself. The "NeoCORP" I mentioned in the other thread though, is a mod if the disc channel that replaces it with NeoGamma, using that disc channel hack as a base. "NeoCORP" in itself would not be ready for release in its current state, let alone releasing it through ModMii.
I would have to bundle in an instructions guide with it at the very least, so that people would use that instead of annoying XFlak about it (hopefully anyway, there are always some bad noobs that will always complain to the wrong person regardless of whatever it is they are complaining about), along with more features, namely loading/saving to NAND, porting to hacks_hash.ini, possibly using a hybrid forwarder etc. (and MAYBE changing the hack to get the sysmenu to accept decrypted discs, or loading without a disc at all for use with other solutions, such as loading a USB loader, and maybe changing the mod's name from "NeoCORP" to something better too, gotta get rid of the "xCORP = bad" stigma, or just get rid of "xCORP"

), along with anything else I may have to do to make it a ready-made "just extract to root of SD and follow bundled guide" pack before I even think about trying to "Properly" release it and convince others to distribute it. All of this takes time that I do not really have, so it will be a while before this is done. I am a very very busy man IRL, just as XFlak is.
So there is much for me to improve on both the disc channel hack AND on "NeoCORP" before I release it fully or even so much as think about bugging XFlak to personally support it.
So, just to clarify, I have not asked XFlak to support this in ModMii, and I do not plan to until I think it is up to a good enough standard to be distributed (and up to a good enough standard so as to try to very nicely ask and convince XFlak to change his mind haha

)
If anyone wants to ask me about or tell me their thoughts about either the Disc Channel Hack project or the "NeoCORP" project, or to help out with any of the things I mentioned in this post, I ask that you please post these in
the thread I made specifically for them, rather than, well, whatever just happened here in this thread.
