ALRIGHT so I have some really dumb questions. Sorry in advance for anyone who has had to answer them a billion times before. But googling gets me nothing but sites trying to sell me shit. Do not want. Anyway.
So I recently got a brand new 3DS. Upon finding out that I can put an SD card (I immediately put an 8gig SDHC in it instead of the 2gig standard one) in there I assumed that meant that it had some good capabilities. But I don't even know where to begin searching to be honest, and I thought I might be able to get some ideas and figure some more stuff out on a board like this so here I am.
Hi my name is Jake &now that the formalities are out of the way, here is where I'm at:
What I know about my 3DS:
It is 3D. Neat.
It takes SD cards and I put an 8gig SDHC in to begin with.
I have like one game made for the 3DS and that's it
It doesn't look like there are many customization options upon first inspection (on its own, anyway)
I can play regular old DS games in there too, how convenient.
3D pictures huzzah.
What I would really like to know about my 3DS:
What can I do with my SD card to hack it? Is that possible? Or do I need to spend money on "special" SD cards?
Can I play movies on it by putting them on the SD card? What are the limits that I should know about?
Can I torrent games and play them through the SD card instead of where the DS cartridges go?
Can I customize the look and feel of it more using hacks?
I have a Mac running Lion. Is this going to be an issue with hacking or anything?
What else can I do that's nifty and/or awesome using only my plain ol' 8gig SD card and a trusty internet connection?
So yeah. Anyone with anything that will help me out, it will be appreciated a million and a half times. Also: When giving me information, treat me like I'm clueless because I pretty much am. I never was much of a DS person so I haven't hacked them before, and I have done little more than jailbreak an iphone in my 22 years of living.
