Well, in Canada, it's perfectly legal to pick locks. Well...as long as you don't do anything inside

What I meant is that if he thinks "Oh, it's unlocked, so it's alright if I connect to it and steal internet", then he would think it's alright to enter a house and steal stuff if the door is unlocked.

I learned about Piracy before I had my own Computer/access to our own internet. So I did the next best thing, used the fabulous PSP Internet browser. Man, I was such a pro!

PSP Movie site> Movie> Send Space File host (one of the few that actually work with the PSP Browser> hover the mouse over the DL Link> Press the Triangle button> "Save As"

Heh, still can't believe I have that process memorized. And to think I had to be in my bed, twisted at a strange angle to get the WIFI Signal (I would get some really bad cramps) to download the stuff.

Than about a week ago I come home from vacation to see that they are now using WPA2-PSK. Fail! But meh, I have my own Internet now and a beast Laptop.

The thing I said about the lockpicking also applies to wifi networks though. You can go into the open wifi network or break into a locked one, but doing anything inside is illegal regardless.

When I was still in college, so 4 years ago, there was a bus stop in Moreno Valley right across from a mini mall. There was a business behind the bus stop with open wifi and download speeds up to 2mb. I did that for almost a year.

No one can get into my Internet at my house. My network SSID is hidden and I setup a MAC Filter so that only my devices can get in.
It's a pain to add a new device though.

I used to before I got WiFi, from my unencrypted neighbors, but now that I have a router, I stopped.
