I was hoping there was a app to do it over wi-fi.
I'm sure anything is possible in the world of electronics, but don't personally know of any people/guides to have made it so.

Pretty much even with a guide, the app would atleast have to be on the market (or somewhere) or you make your own AND you would have to configure your Wifi card on your PC with either a software or hardware tweaks to your PC's wifi card driver to accept signals from the Xperia as a controlling device.

No the information above isn't helpful, but should give you some insight to why no one has really helped you yet.

I don't really want to buy a gamepad because I already have too many controllers and shit plus I want something I can just quickly link to my PC at home when on the road (like teamviewer but is compatible with the buttons)

No developer would bother.

Just buy a USB Bluetooth dongle. They're like $2 on Amazon.
So it can be done via Bluetooth? How?
I'm not saying it's possible yet, it's probably just waiting on a developer to make an app, but it's never gonna happen via Wifi, I can tell you that much. And to prepare for the bluetooth app, you should buy a dongle for $2.

Is that clearer?

Wow. I can't believe someone actually bothered. Seems like it'd be much easier through bluetooth. Especially since most desktops just use ethernet not wifi, and wifi adapters are far more expensive.
