So my parents bought me a Japanese 3DS from Play-Asia yesterday, but that seemed they didn't like the import fees because they felt it was expensive. I told my parents it's OK about the import fees.

I ordered a white 3DS and Sonic Generations: Ao no Bouken on Play-Asia back on December 16. My 3DS arrived yesterday, while Sonic Generations arrived today. I was so glad when my 3DS arrived. Before my 3DS arrived, I got the Essential Starter Kit for the 3DS (a collection of accessories compatible for 3DS and DSi made by i-con which included game cases, 3DS-only screen protectors, a 3DS/DSi bag, larger stylus, etc.) on Christmas Day, which my parents bought it here at Future Shop.

Here are my unboxing images:

Luckily I got a Play-Asia coupon. :) I now have two Play-Asia coupons. Here you'll see the 3DS box in front view.

Inside this plastic bag includes a Club Nintendo promotion, AR Cards (used for AR Games), a 3DS kantan start guide, a 3DS instruction manual and a 3DS warranty information, all of which can be seen below.

Inside the white package (from left to right): a charging cradle, a Nintendo 3DS console (Ice White), 3DS/DSi AC Adapter

Same as above except the white package removed.

The actual 3DS console in Ice White.

I like the 3DS. It's better than the Nintendo DS and Nintendo DSi. I had seen the 3D in the 3DS top screen which is kinda amazing (since it is sometimes blurry). I'll order more 3DS retail games (probably 2, 3 or 4 games) on Play-Asia next year. I'll buy some 3DSWare games (officially called Nintendo 3DS Download Soft in Japanese) and probably a few DSiWare or Virtual Console game on eShop.

So what do you guys think of me having a Japanese 3DS as well as my unboxing images of the 3DS?

Why did you buy a jap one, for the e-shop and different games?
Even though I can't think of more than 5, I think there is a huge list of reasons why I want a JPN set so badly.

@OP: Good for you buying a JPN set. How much did it cost anyway (without import fees)?

Man, if I could comfort my parents fears about import fees by saying "It's ok about the import fees", I'd be a lucky guy :ha:

BTW, there are several people here who already have a JPN 3DS.

Why in the hell would you import a region locked device?
None of your games will be in english, and they will all have harsh import fees to even get them. The 3DS itself was also way more expensive, I bet. It's also less convenient than simply going to the store and buying it.

Sense no make.

But whatever, not like it's mine. Have fun with it.

I have a limited understanding in Japanese, by pronouncing hiragana and katakana characters easily (it's hard to read kanji for me, though). When using a Japanese 3DS, I always figure out what the meaning is and reading Japanese is kinda fun. :)

Yeah, I agree with you.

Why did you buy a jap one, for the e-shop and different games?
Because I think there are lots of good 3DS games out there, especially the 3DSWare titles.

The white 3DS costs about $250 and the game (Sonic Generations) costs about $67.

Yeah, but it's not a special edition like the Zelda 3DS, it's just a bundle.
In Europe, USA or both? I think there's no white 3DS bundle in the US. The white 3DS in Japan didn't have a bundle.

white 3ds. So smexy
Yeah, 'cause white represents everyone. :) I like the white 3DS better than the other colours.

Yeah got my Aqua-Blue one for $169AUD which is normally $250, plus it hadn't been used, aparently someone didnt want a 3ds for Christmas. But anyway overall I'm very impressed with it. I would have prefered a white one, except the circle pad needed to be black. What currently are the best games out? And is there anywhere I can get EUR/PAL games cheap? Also I registered it and got Zelda posters off club nintendo, anyone have these?

Check the 3DS game list anywhere on the gaming site (like GameFAQs). On GameFAQs 3DS website, see the Top 10 section to see if which 3DS games is the best. .

The 3DS games sold in New Zealand are actually European/Australian 3DS games, so go to your local retail game store near you. ^_^

I didn't have one, since I'm not a Zelda fan and not interested on joining Club Nintendo.

Zerosuit connor, your post seemed to be kidna off-topic... but I think it's OK. :)

I somehow doubt that.
