I just got my 3DS and also just found out about the ambassador program. I'm also pretty upset to find out that these games won't be available to the public..I'm dying in the inside, especially after I read that Metroid Fusion is going to be available for them.

My question is, is there a way to get "downloaded" eShop games into your 3DS, like I've done on my Wii? No? Is there hope for this or am I going to have to enter a time machine to buy a 3ds when the price wasn't lowered?

NES ambassador games will be available for purchase later, but Nintendo has said they do not plan to release GBA ambassador games, so you're kinda out of luck with Metroid Fusion. But in any case Metroid Fusion (and all other GBA ambassador games, for that matter) have not been released yet to ambassador 3ds's.

So you have 3 options now :

1) Buy an Ambassador-ready 3DS on ebay (I'm not 100% sure they're still available but I saw some go for $110-ish USD around 2 months ago)
2) Wait for a system hack (probably 2-3 years at best) for playing "backups"
3) Build a flux capacitator (lol)

Ahh man! I wish I would have known about this program before I bought my 3ds. I would have went ebay hunting..I guess I'll have to just wait for the hackers to do the dirty work. At least I'll have super mario 3d land..and mario kart 7..I should be fine for another year or so. Thanks.

yeah or you could just buy a damn supercard ds2 and play metroid fusion on your 3ds that way and all the nes games you want, but not in the same resolution though but still

I've done #1 last month and got my 3DS for a dirt cheap $120. It already had an ambassador program and about $42 of 3DS point left on the console. The original owner also included Zelda: OoT 3D for free.

Nintendo would be stupid not to release the GBA Virtual Console games to the public.

"- Lawl!!!!11! Let's keep GBA Virtual Console for the public!11!
- Wait, what about the profit we could make by letting everyone buy them on the eShop?
- Screw that, profit's not important."

If you have a scanner, just scan your receipt in, Photoshop it, and then email Nintendo. They'll give you ambassador status if you can do it convincingly.

(That's what I did)
:O
Now that's just cheating the system.

thats pretty amazing when you figure that photoshop embeds header data saying the file was created with photoshop when you do this. that's just lazy on nintendo's part

I just checked and the ambassador website is still up and working, so I guess it's still ok to try.

I lost my receipt. Is there anything specific that needs to be done or can I just get the receipt of an ambassador Cosmo Black 3DS and have it work?

Photoshop a different serial on the receipt (if there is one). My store prints the serial on the receipt.

....But TBH you aren't missing much. The NES games are beta and pretty meh IMO, and we have yet to hear from the GBA bits that will STAY in beta. After these games have released, the ambassador program is finished. No more freebies. ;-;

They might give out some cool GBA games. I can't just use my AK2i for those. :/

Any chance someone could photoshop a receipt from GameStop for a 3DS cosmo black to be ambassador-capable?
I don't have photoshop at all, and I wouldn't be very good if I did it myself anyway.

Would be appreciated.

When is Nintendo going to release the full versions of the NES games and the GBA games?
It's been two months now since it started. Never heard anything from them again.
I already feel cheated on by Nintendo for them lowering the price that early, and because of people who paid less for the system still trying to get the free games.
