Is your screen any better? Please post a shot similar to mine, taken at an angle where only one picture should be visible. I'd like to see if the quality of the display differs from 3DS to 3DS. Also turn up 3D to the maximum as well.

Ghosting disappears if you play with higher brightness, or in a place where light won't relect off your 3DS.
Also in OoT you see ghosting in really dark areas like caves or the exits of the lost woods
and taking a screen shot like that doesn't help since you can't capture 3d on a normal camera.

uhm... DUH sonic. but by closing one eye or using a camera, you should be able to take a picture where only the picture for one eye is visible (if it were and ideal display).
and thats what i want people to try and post their results.

and taking a screen shot like that doesn't help since you can't capture 3d on a normal camera.
It's not supposed to capture 3D, it's only supposed to see one image. The parallax barrier should ensure this. Ghosting happens when you can see both images from the same viewpoint (where one of your eyes should be when you're playing), and this image shows it.

EDIT: The video shows it as well. There should be two angles where only one image is visible, but you can see a second image all time.

Can't say I've ever really noticed this, but I never play on full brightness (hurts my eyes) only ever about 2 or 3.

Perhaps that's the only solution?
though i wonder if my display is the only one that has it this noticeable. it was awful in the chamber of the sages with those bright waterfalls and blue/black background. 3d effect didnt work anymore in that situation. id still appreciate it if some could still post their screenshots (also brightness 5 if possible). this quality makes me think that i got a defect/low quality unit :(

Quality is quite poor as it's from an iPod touch (in poor lighting) but hopefully you can see that there's no ghosting, even though it's at pretty much the exact same angle.

The brightness is at 2.

that happen too in another games, for example in pokemon rumble bast i experience the same problem, is not somthing too bad anyway

I found ghosting to be very intensive and annoying in Rayman 3D what led me to the conclusion that it might not be only darkness responsible for ghosting.

Ghosting is very normal for 3D displays. It happens on just about every 3D media that i've seen/used. Even when i watch 3D movies at a theater i see the effect. Its a problem with 3D tech that has yet to be solved. It will be very apparent between two very contrasting colors.

these are three very different technologies.
you watch movies in the cinema in 3d using two projectors, having the polarized glasses each filter one projection. due to diffusion of the light and lower quality of the polarized glass (, you might end up with a ghost image.
on a TV or monitor, you have a framerate of around 120, switching every frame to the other eyes point of view. the shutter glasses will switch from transparent to black just as fast, leaving your eye with an after image. 2 frames result into a 3D picture. with a good monitor and proper glasses, there should be minimal to no ghosting.
on a 3DS (or those new 3D smartphones), you have 2 images, while each can only be seen by one eye at a time, if your head is in the right spot. similar to lenticular printing using regular LCD technology (setup is different though, check Autostereoscopy on wikipedia). obviously, you can see the other eye's image and you are very limited when it comes to the viewpoints and distance. Additionally, if you're unlucky, you get a crappy display like the one thats apparently built into every nintendo 3ds and get ghosting wherever your head is...

beside that, the most successful, ghosting free (fake) 3D technology out there is headtracking. When the device knows where you are, the correct image can be shown, which will only look for the one whos head is being tracked. Unfortunately this is limited to only one person at a time, thus, not practical for mass production/deployment. plus only possible with computer generated graphics, not movies

Ghosting is worst when in darker or really bright areas I've noticed, at least for OOT, any time in a white or black background its a killer.

But I don't play that game in 3d, 3d hurts my eyes.

I've never seen a dual projector 3D setup in a theater. Regardless of the tech used, 3D in general suffers from ghosting mostly in situations where light & dark colors contrast each other.

how on earth would you be able to show ghosting when you take a picture with one lens??????????/ of course their will be absolutely no ghosting as only one eye (the camera) is viewing it... it is the same as saying " i dont have any ghosting with one eye closed" der der derp man
But that's what ghosting is. It's when one eye sees both pictures, even though it should only be seeing one. The OP's picture shows ghosting, and it was taken with one lens.

Der der derp.

I don't have pictures right now, but have seen ghosting in dark places, or when there is too much contrast between objects(Big skulltula in shadow temple).

this is normal, but can sometimes be distracting.

I see ghosting when I'm too close to my 3DS (as the manual says, stay about 14in away from the screen) but this rarely happens. But for OoT they really did mess up with that game, ghosting is all over that game no matter what. It was a bad job, not really the 3DS or certain people... they just messed up.
