Seriously, the bulky disgusting contraption that they've made to put on the 3DS defeats the purpose of a portable console. It pains me to see all the great games coming out for 3DS like Super Mario 3D World and Mario Kart because the current 3DS is so flawed. Am I the only one who couldn't care less about the gimmicky 3D and just wants to play awesome, portable games? The answer has to be a 3DS lite. Any opinions?

the slide pad isn't that bad really, go see what gamespot and ign said about it, it's comfortable to use and it's not heavy, and it's OPTIONAL, the 3d is a good addition to gameplay and there aren't so many flaws in it, just the screen scratches(get a screen protector), i have a 3ds and i love it, period
and oh do you have one or you just judge like that?

The 3DS isn't bulky at all. If you think it's bulky, you'd probably also think that the PS Vita is tablet sized.

Neither are "un-portable". My 3DS easily fits into my pocket, and I'm pretty sure that the Vita will too.

Not happening. I don't have a 3ds, but my bro does and I've played on it a few times. Fist of all, It's very compact, so I've never felt like it was bulky (you kidding rite?). it's almost the same size as a lite (I also have a lite, fyi).

I doubt there's going to be a smaller system, instead it's going to be bigger (perhaps around a XL) to house a better battery and probably integrate the second analog stick into it for some crazy price.

I wonder even if Nintendo were to release a lite version of the 3DS, how much improvements can they actually cram in?

Uh, those are probably going to be two, awesome, portable games. The fact is, you seem less concerned about "awesome games" than you are about the aesthetics of the console they're playing on which is, frankly, ridiculous.

If they ever make an update I'd love more space around the Slidepad. It hurts my thumb when using it too much. Then again it can probably be fixed by a simple grip add-on. The scratches on the screen and the short battery life are also annoying.

1 post troll, sorry but STFU guy I don't see Sony making a console as good as my 3DS, it is your OPINION which we can't agree with!(I belive most of us then :P)

While I do agree that everyone is entitled to their opinion, I also feel obligated to say that you have a stupid opinion.

To soon. WAYYY to soon. Just because we're getting an addon, doesn't mean we need a new 3DS. I understand it has some problems, but I think they're focused on the WiiU for now.

Disagreed.

1: The 3DS is good as it is, if you don't like the addons, gtfo and be quite. Nobody needs haters
2: How much more lite can the 3DS be? If you compare it to the dsl, even the dsl is almost bigger.

The only things they can do is offer improved batteries and some revamping Firmware updates.

Couldn't put it any simpler, spoken like a true GBAtemper!

I think the 3DS is perfect how it is (Except for the minor mistakes like the screen and analog imprints). Also, the D-Pad could be a little better but I never have to use it anyway.

It's bound to have a revision eventually, but hopefully not anytime soon. I actually don't think it will be for a while.

I wish at launch they'd release a couple different systems to satiate many crowds, like a 3DS XL for those who want a large screen and possibly better speakers, a regular for those who can't take the size of an XL and want a smaller portable 3DS, a 3DS with different placements for the stylus and/or slider pad, etc.
