The microphone is pointless considering there are no games that support voice-chat yet.

Unless Power A got wind of a plan to put a Skype app on the 3DS. ;)

Heroes of Ruin supports voice chat. Sure it isn't out yet, but it's the first known game to support it which will be out in the near future.

Looks pretty cool. what would have made this awesome is if they had a mario kart 7 edition of these headphones and a feature online where you could chat while in a race :D

Hmmm. between my brother and myself, we got 4 360 mics. I also have a pair from my phone and a set of high quality one's from china. Same as the expensive microsoft ones but only cost 5 dollars from china S&H included. So in short, these are unneeded. I'm sure anyone wanting to do any voice chat on the 3ds as a perfectly able pair already. Nintendo, your wasting ur money. At any rate, I'm not a person who wants to voice chat on the mario system.

Why not? You'd rather talk to a bunch of annoying 12 year olds than with actual competent gamers?

Considering the age-group the 3DS is targeted to, I would say the 3DS will probably have more annoying 12 year-old gamers.

Oh and I'm pretty sure you misread his post. He was talking about how the headset was unneeded as he has a perfectly working pair.

I'm more implying that the games he'd be playing would probably be ones meant for core gamers and thus there would be less 12 year olds.

But yeah, I guess I did misunderstand regarding the last part.
