For some reason, I can´t download cover. It says the SteamgridDB API key was rejected. But there is no place to insert the key numbers, any idea on how I can insert the key so I can download the covers? It works well in dolphin and cemu

change it manually in launcher.ini

Don’t take this the wrong way, it’s great to see that there’s option to play these game but… As a fighting game fan, specifically fighting games such as MVC2, CapVSSnk, and KOF games you mentioned, why not just use flycast core with Vulkan on Tico?

Just like PS2 Dreamcast version have extras that the arcades don’t, plus gameplay-wise Dreamcast are also pretty much arcade perfect…. No frame drops, no animation animations changes, all combos are present. Plus Flycast core doesn’t require OC or minimal OC for those games, meaning 60FPS can with longer battery life while playing handheld.

I’m following and hoping that one day NetherSX2 will eventually run PS2 3D fighting game fullspeed, for games like Tekken 4, Tekken tag and other fighters stuck on PS2. As a fellow fighting game fan, just want to make aware the other options to play these classics.

I actually have flycast... just didn't run capcom vs snk2 right... I kinda have retro arch and fbneo... more less everything there we've was ever...

Thanks for the tip... the ps2 ports are perfect, no loading screens and arranged music... haha I tried kof 98 um for flycast.. poor performance. That is when I stopped.

I tried manually changing images xxxx-xxxx.png it doesn't work. Any way to manually add cover art?

I tested Castlevania Curse of Darkness (2005) on V1 switch between 1785-2093mhz on CPU 460mhz on GPU and 1600mhz on Ram and got between 40-60fps during gameplay and only cutscenes lagged at 1785 but 2093 would speed it up. I beat the troll and got my first familiar and got the the second save point after looping back. So 15-20 min gameplay.
I imagine the 2003 Castlevania title would run either better or the same

I also noticed since most PS2 games utilize 10-20% on GPU as CPU-Bound. you can boost to 720P with little performance loss, also means for Frame generation you can start from a higher resolution image.
But Lossless adds a bit onto CPU. However, the better the input image, the less artifacts

I used to use flycast standalone and flycast RA, but those versions don’t have Vulkan.

That’s why I specifically mentioned Tico version of flycast. All the 2D games games are perfect there, even all the Atomiswave fighting games are perfect. All with no OC or very minimal OC.

tested ultimate ninja 5 work pretty good i would say 80-100% speed most of the time very playable for me
note use EE cycle i guess 60% and EE Skips Maximum

tested naruto ultimate ninja 3 and it works 100% with unpatched max safe overclocks (1785/921/1600)

So did we get a new update or you just figured out something in the settings? I'm very Jelly btw I wish I could play this game :)
I'm using horizon overclocking with the option to control it from the console itself. It keeps varying the cpu between 1750 to 2300mhz and the gpu I leave at most 728mhz. In this way, it maintains an average temperature of 57º.

Before this update, the game crashed randomly, although the performance was practically the same, apparently.

I retested Silent hill 2 using older Classic 3668 core instead of 4248 core and went from 17-23 frames to a solid 30fps and running through town of silent hill with core 1 at 80-85% utilized and i fully disabled EE skip. Good audio too, Cutscenes are harder on switch tho, 100% on core 1.
At 1785mhz more stutters but pretty smooth overall, but if you can boost higher its smoother.

Im using a V1 switch with 2093mhz on CPU, 460mhz on GPU to boost to 720P (generally as CPU bound resolution doesnt really matter), and 1600mhz on Ram

Id suggest retesting games using the classic core if you couldnt get desired game to run, it has more bugs but 4248 introduced regressions so harder to run but less bugs and such.
It might not fix everything or anything, but might get interesting results
