What can be done? last president to not finish his term was Nixon.The iran war is too late to be stopped.It has to reach victory or defeat for the USA.

Considering that Trump is worse than Nixon, it sounds like a good reason for Trump not to finish his term.

That's the issue with the US right now. They treat the position of the presidency as something greater than it is. It's a temporary position. If someone is hired for a contract position and does the job terribly, you don't have to say "Welllllll.... he may have openly committed war crimes, but we can let his contract run out in two more years...."

There are proper measures to be taken for ANY government worker to be removed from their position. They just don't want to admit that they screwed up THIS terribly. If Trump is removed from office and someone competent is put in place, the Iran war will come to a conclusion. If Trump and Hegseth are given to Iran as a bargaining chip to end the war peacefully, it'll be over in a day.

There are proper measures to be taken for ANY government worker to be removed from their position. They just don't want to admit that they screwed up THIS terribly. If Trump is removed from office and someone competent is put in place, the Iran war will come to a conclusion. If Trump and Hegseth are given to Iran as a bargaining chip to end the war peacefully, it'll be over in a day.

Won't be that easy,I'm afraid. Perhaps if you include all Trump's personal capital, but look at this from their side: they had a deal, then had a loudmouth come in who wanted to renegotiate... By surprise bombing the leader and(among others) a school. Just offering the head of the loudmouth wouldn't be enough. They've said they wanted to rebuild their country, so that's a reasonable nr. 2. But how exactly are you going to build trust if the leader's position can change so fast, and the entire rhetoric with it?
Like... It's not like anyone said "hey guys... Khamenei is dead. Surely his son is more reasonable " on this side, so it'd be strange to expect the other side to be the better ones.

Not quite. Presuming the perimeter holds, there'll be a new memoratum. Bar escalation from either side (or neighboring country copying Iran), there'll be an outline of a deal. But if that works, there'll be the actual prospects of a deal. And you know what comes next? Negotiations... With a potential deal at the end. Then give it a few generations to ensure no ones breaks it... And then there's peace!

It's all coming together, guys!

Yes, giving over Trump and Hegseth as the grand solution was just a bit of hyperbole on my part. It may grease the wheels to open the doors to negotiations by showing the US is serious this time. There are a LOT of issues now that weren't around before the war. Previously, if Iran blocked the strait and charged tolls without reason, the entire world would have united against them. Now that the US has gone in, not only does Iran now know that they have the ability to do it, they have an excuse to.

The concessions from the MOU will probably still be required. No more sanctions, money to rebuild the damage, unfrozen accounts, etc. They have all the power currently unless the US does a ground invasion, which would be catastrophic, or if the US can somehow find a way to stop the drone attacks from being so effective.

We're witnessing history here. The worst and most costly US military failure in history.
