Hi everyone, this is my first post here, so please forgive me if I’m posting in the wrong section. I recently jailbroke my NNN Switch and I’m having some trouble with The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

The base game works perfectly fine. However, whenever I try to install an update (like v1.4.3), I cannot get past the black screen with the NNN logo. I am on firmware 18.1.0 and using the latest version of Atmosphere.

Does anyone know if there are specific compatibility issues between the base game and the latest updates, or am I missing a specific step? I’ve already tried resetting the 'Required Version' in DBI and checked my patches, but no luck so far. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your patience as I'm still learning the ropes of the forum!

My Setup:

  • Firmware: 18.1.0
  • Atmosphere: Latest version 1.10.2
  • Install Method: DBI (USB/MTP)
  • Files: Base is .xci, Update is .nsp (Integrity check in DBI is OK)
What I’ve tried so far:

  1. Installed the latest Sys-patch (v1.5.9) and rebooted.
  2. Used DBI to 'Reset required version'.
  3. Tried entering Maintenance Mode (Vol + and Vol -) to clear the cache.
  4. Deleted the tickets and performed a clean reinstall.
  5. Checked the /atmosphere/contents/ folder for any old mods or cheats.

You've done everything except the one thing you were supposed to do... update the firmware... 18.1.0 is too old
First update Atmosphere (1.10.2) then with Daybreak the emummc firmware, check that you have the memory redirected to microsd
In the system settings, next to the atmosphere version there must be an E and not an S

Thanks for your reply. I read that Update 1.2.1 is compatible with firmware 18.1.0. Since I only jailbroke my Switch the day before yesterday and many games are currently working without any issues, I’m going to hold off on updating for now. I don’t want to jump into things I don’t fully understand yet, especially since I'm not sure what the consequences would be if something went wrong.

@oMaRcO
Just update your FW to 21.2.0 and AMS to 1.10.2 version.
I still have a Switch on the latest update. My new SD card arrives tomorrow, so I'll test it out then. If everything works smoothly, I’ll go ahead with the update. I still have a lot to learn and understand about the post-jailbreak stuff, though.
