HAHAHA This thread idea is great. I'm terrible.

GTA V - I'd have fun in theory but I keep looking at other things
Hollow Knight - I really need to complete this so I can honor my old best friend's wish that I play through it, and I have desire to play Silksong
Okami - I don't have a good excuse but I find the pacing to be slow
Borderlands 2 - Didn't engage me enough to make me wanna come back, it's been so many years, I have every reason to enjoy it though
Pokemon Moon - The pacing made me want to throw bricks
The Denpa Men 2 - My grandma broke my 2DS on accident
hahahahahah.
Persona 5 Royal - Same reason as Hollow Knight. I'm really loving this one too, it'll be the soonest removed from this backlog
Dragon Quest XI - It's really good but also I'm putting time elsewhere
A Hat in Time - I'm loving this but also it's not where my focus is going
Kingdom Hearts 1, 2, 3, 2.8, Birth By Sleep - Time. I already know everything that happens but I want their experiences
Tales of Vesperia - I was super into this until I reminded myself about P5R and Hollow Knight
Pokemon Legends ZA - Very fun, was playing with partner and we simply moved onto other things.
Split Fiction - Same as above
It Takes Two - Same as above
Fantasy Life i - I'm really loving this but I'm putting time elsewhere
Kribby Air Riders - I'm almost all the way through but the last few achievements are frustrating
And those are just the ones I've touched/left unfinished. My backlog is longer than my lifespan x)
I did finish P3/P4 in the past year, from front to back. I'm proud of that!

borderlands 4 for me, me and my gf spent the better part of 3 months this year working through almost all the previous games in the series every night, 4 is the best the series has felt for me but i cannot play it without incredible amount of frame dropping and lag, to the point of just giving me a headache. putting it on hold until they either give it (much needed) performance patches or i cave in and upgrade my pc.

From the vids I watched of it, it still doesn't live up to the vibe 2 had, BUT I absolutely feel your pain in outdated PC woes......and once again, hitting a time period when building a rig would not be the best.

Really wanted to play Rise of Ronin, but as SOON as you hit the first city it all goes to absolute shit and that's my 7700hq bottlenecking the life out of demanding and dynamic texture and sound unpacking. Hell, I got MH Wilds to run WELL with RE mods on this laptop, so it continued to stand the test of time. Only thing I've yet to try, and I'm coming damn close to is to crack the rear case open, grab some 2 CPU coolers, make some sort of sensible way to rest the internal heat pipe CPU and GPU areas onto those, and see if that might help anything (as possibly open up overclocking it is capable of doing) to squeeze a little more out of the old fella.

Final Fantasy II and Final Fantasy XII.

I've beaten and even 100%'ed most games in the series. I've done the Solo White Mage Challenge on FF1, on NES and PSP. I can beat FFIV in almost exactly six hours. I've maxed out FFVII with all characters at max stats. I've 100% dusted FFX, with complete perfect Sphere Grids for all party members. Gotten Lionheart on Disc One of FFVIII, with all cards collected.

Still can't bring myself to adjust to the leveling system of FFII, and have always been reluctant to even try FFXII because of the Gambit system. I like traditional, turn-based Final Fantasy. Not what it has become. The action/rpg series should be its own thing, and Squeenix desperately needs to just give us a good, solid, turn-based ATB classic RPG. No one ever asked them to change into what they are now.

I have never even played 15 or 16, for the reasons stated above. I don't WANT an action-heavy experience when I play Final Fantasy. I want classic classes and archetypes, turn-based battles, and strategic thiinking. Not what Final Fantasy has become.

i tend to start a lot of games because I get bored easily so of the top of my head here's my list of games I have yet to beat:

Red dead redemption 2.
Borderlands 1, 2 and 3.
Sonic colours,
Forza motorsport career mode.
GTA 4 the ballad of gay Tony,
Super Mario Wonder,
New super Mario Bros U Plus Luigi,
Super Mario 3d World And 3d Land ,
Zelda TotK,
Luigi's mansion 3,
Super Mario World 2 Yoshis Island ( Trying to finish the one for near 30 years, and i always get distracted by other things to do),
Horizon zero dawn,
MotorStorm artic edge ( i have lost track of how many times I started this game and played through the middle but then lose the save game or just switch platform. Started with the original game on the PSP , then on the Vita backwards compatibility , then it became my go to game to test PSP emulation on low end machines, but never actually beat the game),
GTA Chinatown wars,
And a lot more games that I want to beat but I think I never will....

Now Im hooked on cyberpunk 2070, but I wonder if I will actually finish the game.

The Sims 4, and GTA V online. I try and try, yet it never seems I can make it to the end.

Star Ocean the Second Story, i dunno maybe i'm just a slow idiot but the game really seems to not explain it's mechanics well and it's
alot to keep track of at once, the start is pretty unforgiving and you need to fight a specific formation of random encounters just to grind up safely.

Chrono Trigger, suprisingly.
its a long game and i rarely ever play for more than two hours at most.
why? same reason ive yet to beat a lot of zelda games. i lose savegames, take breaks between play sessions and forget what happened last... etc.
Post automatically merged:

Yet to properly have a go at Final Fantasy X-2. It’s just…so ass compared to the masterpiece that came before it.
oooh yes, its definitely ass.
why? because right from the get-go they get the tone of the game completely wrong.
Going from an epic fantasy rpg to an rpg where you play those very same characters you love... but they are now a girl-band with powers based on their outfits is jarring to say the least.
im not saying changing things up cant be fun, but they took it too far!
it feels like a FFX parody.
I got a demo of X2 in some kinda magazine or pre-order of some other game back in the day (cant remember where exactly) and i couldnt BELIEVE what theyve done. i was genuinely speechless.
that demo saved me from buying the game tho, because i loved FFX and otherwise surely would have bought X2.

I'm playing through the first two remakes on the Switch, and yeah... they suck at explaining anything. There's literally zero hand-holding. Breeze past a piece of important text on where to go next, and boom... You're Googling a walkthrough.

okay im glad im not crazy because i read ability descriptions multiple times and no matter how much i tried to understand things other than combat, just
became a confusing mess and i feel like ignoring it altogether would've very much backfired by end game had i made it that far.

They're fun, but hard as nails.

Ocarina of Time. I got distracted from it for a while, which happens for me sometimes and is not a reflection on how good the game is, and now I'm delaying the endgame until I've found the last couple of fuckin' golden skulltulas. Oh and a couple of other little side tasks.

Doing a no death run of dodonpachi daioujou. The only thing holding me back now is I'm new at bullet hell shmups. I'm sure its possible and I have never seen anyone else do such a crazy challenge. I don't normally loop games but thats one game I would love to do, since the TLB aka true last boss on the 2nd loop, hibachi, makes for an ultimate battle.
