I've put together this group to display interesting snacks and drinks I've come across. I'm inviting other users to post and share. Not everything has to be candy, soda or unhealthy items alike. Most of mine will be but I don't recommend anyone being like me. :-)

I love coffee and I love liqueurs so it stands to reason I would love a coffee liqueur. This is expensive premium shit, or so they like to claim. They have another liqueur, a nougat praline thing, that really is quality stuff so I had reason to believe this might be good.

Well it's not.

It's sour and bitter. It has a metallic taste and the aftertaste is like sucking on spent coffee grounds. It's the nastiest burned dark roast you've ever tasted, mixed with Everclear. Dark roasts should have "notes" of caramel and chocolate, this has notes of burning tires. It's vile. I tried adding milk to see if that helps, but all it does is make the milk taste like gasoline.

It was a complete waste of 20 Euros that I could have spent on much better hooch and I'm kicking myself.

0/5, stay away.

"expensive premium shit", for 20 euros? That's pretty much bottom shelf price. Last coffee liquor I got was about $180, or a bit over 150 Euro & there's much, MUCH more spendy stuff than that. Although I'm not paying $500-$10,000 for a bottle of ANY booze.

If it's marketed as "espresso" flavored though, then the bitter & sour taste would be kinda what's expected? Most straight up espresso shots I've had have been quite sour and bitter. If it's marketed as "coffee cream" flavored... then I would agree and would have also expected it to taste better than you described.

Remind me to never let you make me an espresso :tpi:
It should have some level of acidity and bitterness but it should be balanced and not downright acrid. And we drink robusta over here so I'm not averse to bitter.
And it costs more than Bailey's so that's expensive shit in my view 🤷‍♂️ It should be at least decent.
I could have bought a nice bottle of Sheridan's for that money which is an actually good liqueur.

Have you ever tried a mudslide? Fairly cheap and bailey like. like Kahlúa.

Not sure if sold in other countries than the USA, but this stuff is my go to Coffee Liqueur. Using it also makes a very good Coffee Ice cream, with heavy cream, in an ice cream maker.
