Is 4.25TB the maximum amount of games you can have on Switch?

I mean without swapping microSDs/carts or what have you.

256GB on the [upgraded] NAND, 2TB on a microSD, and 2TB on another microSD in a MIG Switch?

Actually, you can use USB drives for the old games. SXOS still works and once it's set up it's easy to use for all the games it was compatible. I use a 16 gb EmuNAND strictly for SX. I use Super XCI with all the updates and DLC for each title inside the XCI so they all live on the HDD. The EmuNAND is just for os files and saves. 16GB footprint on my SD. Good option.

I actually can't use anything too old even on emuNAND; I think it's due to older versions of HOS not supporting the OLED or something.

Ahhh, might be a way if you can code. iIRC , SX had a "Franken Firmware" someone pieced together to use a slightly higher version. I think It was the high 11.x.. might be able to fudge it to 13 somehow, or at least apply drivers to run the OLED screen.. I also recall a hacker claiming he got USB loading working, and that it was not hard to do, on a much higher firmware but he was afraid to release it. Maybe enough time has lapsed and the Switch 1 isn't the latest console anymore some someone more gifted than I can take a crack at it. I would love to bust out my external drive again. It was a better way, IMHO, cheaper storage and the drag and drop was so easy i knew 6 year olds who could add their own games.

You may use KIOXIA LC9 245.76 TB 2.5" disk in any USB-C enclosure with all the NSP/NSZ Switch games and updates, then connect it via USB OTG adapter and use DBI to install any game you want. :)

That method would produce a lot of wear and tear on your SD card seems to me. You would be doing a bunch of delete and write actions. If you're someone who wants to go beat a game and then delete it, that might work, but if you're someone who wants to bounce around and play a hundred different games in a week I think that way would cause a lot of wear and tear.

USB loading was a superior method. I hope someone implements it again.

I hope someone gets it working on newer FWs.

My microSD card would die faster than an infant left in the car on a hot summer day, lol.

And I want to have my entire library available without any waits such as installs.

SXOS dont go higher than 9xxx firmware ?? that is impressive wish atmosphere and hekate can come up with it

Nah, it's totally okay. Just use the tough one, like for camcorders, and you'll be good:

I use this method for like a 4 years every day, installing and uninstalling many thousands of games just for my pleasure, and everything is super fine with my microSD card. :)

They fail faster than a SSD or HDD. Even the high endurance line. HDD is more stable and the method of drag and drop to the hard drive is extremely convenient. I wish USB loading was still an thing. I have an 8 TB HDD i should set up just because. USB loading is Superior
