Hacking Feedback Help with R4i 3DS Gold EU card

Hi, hopefully i posted this on the right spot.
I need help with this R4i gold 3ds, I was looking for the right kernel following the guide on flashcart guides website. Then I put the cart DS Lite and nothing happens I tried to reformat my sdCard 1 more time and still nothing happens.

I'm not sure If maybe this card just doesn't work on my DS Lite or maybe it's just bricked. If anyone could give a hand I would appreciate thanks!

Did you insert the card after you powered on the DS Lite? Try inserting the flashcart in first before you power on the system. Or otherwise, it's likely a contact issue--the paper trick or cleaning the contacts with isopropyl alcohol might work.

Try a different microSD card, or make sure it is correctly formatted with the FAT32 Format Tool or through SD Formatter. It must be within 32GB or below; otherwise, if you have a 64GB microSD formatted to exFAT, then it needs to always be FAT32 as that can be the cause of the kernel not booting. You can use TWiLightMenu firmware (use r4isdhc autoboot method, from the folder that has R4.DAT in it) - slow firmware but has some neat tricks like taking screenshots and playing some DSi-exclusive games ( https://github.com/DS-Homebrew/TWiLightMenu/ )

Or you can use R4 Wood kernel - more on a hardware level of flashcard(super-fast, but no screenshots & DSi ), but the one that was ported doesn't support many recent games after 2010 or even some popular, but you can rebuild them to make them work (more info here )

The fact that the card isn't even recognized by the system leads me to believe that there is a contact issue between the DS and the card. Make sure to clean them with IPA or something similar.

On top of this

For some reason R4 cards in particular seem to be slightly too thin or something because almost all of mine don’t make proper contact and work unless I use a small piece of cardboard to shim behind them to fill the cartridge slot gap a bit more
