No. There's no FM radio in the DS hardware. At best, you'd need some DS homebrew that could stream internet radio, but given the low bandwidth capabilities of the 802.11b hardware, I doubt it'd ever come to light without sounding like trash anyway. And that's also assuming the DS would have the horsepower to decode the stream in real-time, without a RAM expansion at the very least to act as buffer. The DSi or 3DS would be better candidates for this approach.

Another poroblem may simply be finding/creating a suitable WiFi connection. Looking at some newer WAPs they don't even seem to support wireless b and then you either need it to support open or WEP encryption, which especially on a home network has security implications that ideally need to be dealt with or just avoid connecting all together, especially for something like this.

Ignoring the above, one potential alternative would be a proxy that could transcode the stream into something more suitable for the DS.

Or just buy a cheap radio.

The Nintendo Wi-Fi USB sticks are still around, just kind of pricy. I should have bought them all when they were new. Mine died of water damage from being outside, trying to share my wi-fi to my downstairs neighbor.

Is there any internet radio homebrew for the DS that you know of? I'm planning on using this on the DSi, should have specified before.... Thanks though!!

Read his first sentence again
Wait. Did I misunderstand? Jayro said the DS can't receive FM signals, and the original DS doesn't have enough bandwidth... Jayro also said the DSi would be a better option, so did I miss anything? Sorry if I've caused confusion (again!)

I don't think the RF chip (or the antenna) is capable of receiving signals in the AM or FM band. But even if it could, it's not in a format that can be decoded by the chip.

You need a custom cartridge (Slot1 or Slot2) with some extra hardware on it, with a radio chip capable of outputting I2S, so you could play the captured samples on the GBA or DS hardware.

So yeah, basically "no", without lots of effort and knowledge.

As for streaming over WiFi, even the 3DS would struggle with just the streaming over internet part. Decoding whatever crusty MP3 or AAC the stream format is in, is yet more challenge in itself.

Is OP 13 years old? That's truly an age full of imagination.
I am also 13 years old and a few hundred months, I also want a DSi radio:P.

Simple: Built-in FM module, connect to power and headphone jack to listen to radio waves.

Difficulty: Make a DS cart with a built-in FM module, DS screen displaying UI, listen to radio waves.

Very Difficulty: Create a DSi app that connects to WPA2 wifi and can stream 64~256kbps mp3 or use m3u8.

Impossible?: Make a DSi mode cart with a built-in FM module, DS screen displaying UI, listen to radio waves & connects to WPA2 wifi.

Using a mobile phone is better.
