How do I edit a Wii Download Assistant channel (The whole thing, not just the banner)?

These channels are very simple to edit, as it's really just a slideshow using JPG images. Everything from the text and image boxes are all part of the JPG images used for the slideshow part of the channel. You will need U8Mii and WadMii, from Wii.cs tools, to extract and edit them tho.

Find the download assistant channel you want to extract, and use WADMii to unpack the WAD file. Then extract 0000008.app with U8Mii. The output folder of this file reveals the images used for the channel, with multiple language folders. The image names are similar to "page0X", with X representing the page number. The number of pages vary on your channel, with 2 to 5 images in total, and the order starting from 0 for the file name. All images except the background (BG.jpg) have dimensions of 496 x 328 pixels. Some channels might have duplicate JPG images under a different name.

Once you've edited the slideshow image or the background, you replace the old images with the new, then pack the app and WAD file back together using the same tools.

This is what I did, and I've tested it on USBLoaderGX to make sure it wouldn't brick my Wii. I'm sure it doesn't, but it doesn't hurt to have brick protect anyway.

The channel music, text from the channel banner, or number of pages might be more tricky to change.

Hope that helps! :)

Can you make a video tutorial that is more detailed on how to edit assistant channels?? That would be really helpful if you did :D
Of course I can! ^-^

However, I'm currently in the works of a FriishProduce Adobe Flash Injection tutorial, so that will have to wait.

It wouldn't brick your Wii. And even if it did, you could use Priiloader to boot HBC, and therefore YAWMME, to uninstall the WAD.

Another thing is, the title it launches in the Wii Shop. It just launches the title of the title ID of the download assistant. Because the channels from the shop are meant to replace the download assistants from the discs.

Hell, the tickets from the download assistants even work on the shop titles.
