Nintendo is increasing the price of the Switch and other accessories in the US

As a result of "market conditions", Nintendo has decided to increase the price of a number of products. Starting August 3rd, all original Nintendo Switch models (including the OLED and Lite) will see a price hike, in addition to the Alarmo, amiibo, and other Switch and Switch 2 accessories. The Nintendo Switch 2 and its games will not see any price changes, at this time, though Nintendo does state that price adjustments to those items might still happen in the future. Nintendo did not specify what the new prices will be in the United States--at the time of writing, a Switch OLED Edition retails for $349.99, a Lite retails for $199.99, and the original Switch model is priced at $299.99.

[UPDATE] American retailer Target has already changed the prices of the Nintendo Switch units on its website, ahead of the date Nintendo specified. Currently, the original Switch has an MSRP of $339.99, the OLED is $399.99, and the Lite is $229.99.

Why are they increasing the price of hardware so old it probably costs pennies to produce?

Not to mention that any Switch 1 consoles still on retailer shelves now have probably been there for months collecting dust, i.e. made, imported, and put on sale before the tariff.

Clever of Nintendo to prop up the tariff as an ostensible scapegoat, but I think it's just that they like money and will use any excuse to get more of it.

switch 2 will be next you watch! won't matter how much they raise prices the good little sheep will still buy them. this is how these bastards have survived yeah well they won't be getting a cent out of me ever again. don't give a fuck about prime 4 either if you have to play it with those garbage joy-cons and it will be running at 1440p than it's a hard pass.
