Thank god. I was beginning to think this site had been taken over by Nazi apologists. Maybe now I'll bother posting here again. I hope there isn't a civil war among staff and that this is a unanimous opinion among them.

Reminder, though: at this point, it is not possible to be a Trump supporter and not be a fascist/nazi. That's not hyperbole, that's fact. In other words, ANY praise to Trump on this forum should be grounds for mod intervention. And at that point, the politics forum might as well get shut down.

I actually agree with you on that. Free speech isn't just to make sure the government can't suppress free expression. It's also so people can show their true colors. Still waiting on any real Nazis to show up though, despite your certainty that anyone not in mental lockstep with you is one.

Jewish students barricading themselves inside the Cooper Union library while "protesters" tried to break in, many cases of Jewish students being assaulted and/or harassed both in public and their homes, the young Jewish couple that was murdered in D.C. in May while their murderer shouted, "Free Palestine!," Jewish students being barred from entering campus/classes at UCLA, Columbia, and Yale, Jewish students at Pitt beaten with a heavy glass bottle, Jewish student at Tulane had their nose broken by a pro-Hamas "protester" using their megaphone as a weapon, 2 Jewish students beaten in separate incidents at the U of Michigan, etc etc etc. If I posted "a couple sources" you would focus only on rejecting/impeaching those isolated incidents and disregard the big picture. But there are hundreds of examples, if youre willing to show a little intellectual curiosity and objectivity.

As it turns out, supporting someone who has it out for specific ethnic groups and is currently shipping people to concentration camps without trial, including protestors, makes you a Nazi, and supporting someone who nullifies the courts and LITERALLY said he alone decides what the law is makes you a fascist. Quick question, how are you able to tell that guy was "LARPing"? You are simultaneously arguing "it's too hard to tell if someone saying they are a Nazi is genuine" and "that guy who said they were a Nazi was definitely not genuine".

I do agree it's a problem that some people think pretending to be a Nazi is funny, they're providing cover if nothing else. I also think they don't have much room to complain if the hilarious joke of "act like a Nazi" causes them to be mistaken for a Nazi. How much benefit of the doubt do they need to be given, and how do we stop actual Nazis taking advantage of that?
