Are there specific Neo-Geo and MAME romsets for RetroArch 1.21.0?

I spent hours getting every Neo-Geo and MAME game I wanted to play working by downloading the same game from multiple sources until I found one that worked. Then I updated RetroArch which broke some of the games, started the same process of downloading and testing the games but couldn't get them to work and gave up. I overwrote the dumps which previously worked so I can't just redownload an older version of RetroArch.

According to RetroArch's documentation

Romset version: It's not unusual for a specific romset to exist in different versions. The reason for this is that sometimes the attempts at digitalizing chips failed, and instead of having a game totally unavailable due to a romset being only 90% complete, it was decided to implement workarounds in the emulator's code to make the game somehow playable. Every time one of those chips finally gets a proper dump, which can happen decades later, ongoing arcade emulators will update their code by removing the workarounds and loading the correct dump, hence why multiple romset versions can exist.

So to my understanding the newer FinalBurn Neo and MAME cores don't support whatever older dump worked on older versions of them. Is there a specific name or version to search online to find the dumps supported by the cores provided in RetroArch 1.21.0?

Those are the best and most stable "retro" sets imho that run on pretty much everything including the Switch. You won't have luck with newer MAME games on the (rather weak) Switch anyway.

Of course not. Neither I'm allowed to give direct links here nor is the Onion OS team on their wiki.
However they mention the exact names you have to look up on that archive site. Can't get any easier than that...
