Texture pack is 95% finished. Some sprite textures may be missing. Some textures have been replaced but the emulator does not load them properly, see examples below.

For Vita3k only, will not work on original hardware.

You'll find a readme file with instructions within the zip file.

This is the first time I do a texture pack, if someone wants to give me some feedback on how I am sharing it, explaining the instalation process or other aspect I would very much apreciate it.

--------------------

I want to share with you a little of why I ended up making this, endulge me for a second. I've been in love with this saga for about a year now, I've binged played almost all of them, up until reverie, because it was not yet out by the time I got there, and needed a breather anyway to be honest.

At some point I became aware of the EVO remaster of the original trilogy, and wanted to give it a go, see what had changed. What I found was kinda underwhelming, as some textures just on the starting city of rolent felt like a straight up downgrade compared to te originals. Small details like the border of interiors being to bright to seemlesly blend the ground with the backdround, or the transition between road textures and nearby texture being just to abrupt. (I went back and checked, this is not the case on the original release).

There are also some weird straight up texture errors, like the bed and lamps on the last scene.

So, for the most part, I've upscaled the orignal textures from the pc version. In some cases like the Rolent road, I've maintained the EVO textures with manual touch ups in photoshop like the grass transition.

I do not know why but, in some cases, the same texture from the same room can be exported under infinete number of variable file names, making them efectively impossible to replace. For the most part this does not happen on very noticable areas, but, there are some that stick out like a sore thumb. Some examples:

Efectively what this means is that you can enter one area, see everything fine, go out and re-enter, and some texture somewhere might be not replaced anymore.

This drives me crazy, but I do not know why this happens, if some one knows and has a solution I would be happy to implement it.
--------------------

This problem was also present on the character speach buble portraits. This game has animated mouths and eyes for them. So, in some cases the mouths and eyes where just not replaced, making the experience jarring.

To circumvent this problem I've Injected the upscaled portraits directly on the game files, within the "data.psarc" file. As I've been working with the english patch on, this means that the upscaled portraits are just compatible with the english patched game. I may upload version compatible with the original japanese if requested.

Just realised that this doesn't have any replies yet, somehow - just a quick note of praise. Bravo!

Works pretty much perfectly - so glad something like it exists! Goes a long way towards making this the best possible way of playing the game.

Hey, thank you very much for your reply. I'm glad to know there are people out there enjoying the pack. Makes me want to carve out some time to keep working on SC.

I think this HD pack is really good, maybe a little too big, it could be optimized a little, I converted the dds files to png and it's only about. 3GB. with minimal quality loss.

By the way, are you planning to remaster SC EVO too? I've already started the project, but if you've already started it, I'll wait for yours. :)

Hey there,

Love your work work, seeing your and other creators work was what got me started on in it in the first place.

I've already started SC, got up to half of chapter 1 donde. My work situation has changed since then, so I got not so much time on my hands now.

If you want to continue with it I would not mind. I'd rather see it out in the world done by someone else than not have it at all because of me being busy.

How far along are you? I could share the assets I already got with you if you want.

It should work. The "textures" folder should be inside the "files" folder. "Storage/emulated/0/Android/data/org.vita3k.emulator/files"

Check the emulator tab on the adjustment to double check the emulator path in case you did not use the default one when installing.

It may be easier to connect your phone to a pc via usb and manage the files through there.

The folder may not be there at first (I don't actually remember right now). So you can create it yourself or, run any game with import/export textures option turned on. That should auto generate the folders.

Serial lurker here and I just found this randomly. Been playing the game for a few weeks now and man, this texture pack just made it so much better! Awesome job!

For those on MacOs: inside vita3k folder, create a sub folder called "textures" then dump the entire "import" folder from the zip into it, go to setting in vita3K and turn on load textures under GPU - profit! Now it takes about 3 seconds or so to load the game up but once ingame, it plays just like it used to :)

Keep up the great work due!
