Hello Guys. I wanted to Mod a Wii for my little Brother this Christmas. I already modded my own Wii few years ago and everything went fine. Except for the second Wii. I tried loading my Backups through USB Loader GX and every Backup got loaded but everytime I try open a game, it gets Hard Stuck on a Black Screen and i need to force shutdown the Console. I tried the same USB with the same Backups on my Own old Wii via USB Loader and the Game started without any Problems. I don't know what i should do anymore.

My USB is a Sandisk Ultra 128GB formatted FAT32

Quick question because I've been fighting with a similar issue, and it'd be nice to know if we're in the same specific hellhole. Like you've I've previously modded Wiis with no issue.

When you *remove* the USB stick from the Wii before a reboot, are you able to boot installed channels from the USB loader? Loading the Homebrew Channel, returning to the System Menu, whatever.

When I do that, everything works fine. And in fact I have the exact same type of USB as you, but your test with a different Wii seems to rule out the stick itself being the problem. I've also tested with a different stick (still Sandisk, but that should be good) and the problem persists.

I have tried just about everything at this point, and the issue seems weirdly widespread. Priiloader's latest version fails to load the Homebrew Channel from its menu with a stick in, but will actually finish loading it if you remove it. Downgrading to 0.9.1 fixed it. But I'm still stumped on getting the USB loaders to work, as both GX and Wiiflow seem to completely break when I dare to show them a USB stick.

At this stage, I am feeling like there's something very basic going on with recent versions of some critical hacking software, but it would have been spotted before now?

Also, how did you hack this Wii? I've previously done it all manually with wii.guide, or more ancient guides, but this time I tried using ModMii. Can't see anything wrong with what it was doing, though.

Sorry for the late response. Much things happened since then. My Sandisk USB died/corrupted (right after i posted this Thread) cause USB Loader GX crashed during loading the USB after reinstalling USB Loader. I bought yesterday an Intenso ALU LINE 64 GB USB Drive for 7 Euros and tried testing it today with FAT32 Format. And for my Surprise it works flawlessly. Its not listed in the USB Devices Compatibility List, so i prayed it somehow works. So if somebody wants to add it, i can say it started the Game (i used Wii Sports as an Test Game) without any problems what so ever. Gonna do some other Test later on tho.

To your Question above: I didn't used ModMii cause my Winstupid 11 PC hated that Program (saying its a virus and all that stuff). I modded my Wii manually with wii.guide like i did years ago with my Privat Wii. I used the Letterbomb Method. Can`t say why tho your Wii having Problems. I used the latest Programs and like i said with the Cheap Intenso USB Drive it somehow worked. Maybe a more experience User from gbatemp can help you out mate.

Why my Privat Wii didnt had problems with the Sandisk, i still cant answer it. I thought maybe cause i used old cios. Don't know and i'm too lazy to check my privat wii syscheck out to compare.

Sorry if my English is not the best of the best. Hope you guys still understand my yapping xD

No worries, glad to hear it's working. I decided to have another look after not touching the Wii since my post, and it works now. The computer gremlins have moved on, I suppose. Thanks anyway :)
