Super Mario Party Jamboree has leaked online a week ahead of its official release

As is the case for most Nintendo Switch first-party releases, Super Mario Party Jamboree has been leaked, with an XCI version of the game being spread across the internet. People with hacked Switch systems are playing the game, and uploading gameplay footage online a week ahead of the game's official release date, which is October 17th. It also appears to run in Ryujinx, despite the emulator no longer being developed.

Wake me up when Sony's latest first-party game gets leaked this early before launch. I have yet to hear anything about something like that happening, much less a reversal on some of their more questionable decisions and changes in the face of consumer protests.
i dont own a ps5 and stopped supporting sony. i wait for their games to be made available on PC and if they arent made available on PC oh well theres always other games for me to play. i still have supported nintendo because of some of their practices still seemed focused on entertainment. my days of supporting any gaming company are coming to an end personally. i wont be a licensee. i own all my games.

even though this game leaked it will still sell more than sony first party games. sony is hurting far more than nintendo is. if it wasnt for the call of duty braindeads they would be in alot more hurt than they already are in.

I mean, I don't support Sony myself. Never have. That said, I have yet to see anyone even attempt to leak one of their first-party games. I don't recall seeing any attempts even during the PS4 era and prior to them taking up PC publishing (and let's not pretend that move was out of generosity - their "AAA" budgets are clearly overinflated to the point that PS4/PS5 exclusives aren't going to cut it anymore). I don't know if it's out of fear, or no one feels like doing it (either because there's no PS5 emulator, or because, as you noted, Sony's likely to port all of their modern games to PC anyway).

It's because the PS4/PS5 don't have any latest firmware exploits available, unlike the Switch which is, at this point, basically wide open. Any idiot with a paperclip and a launch day Switch can dump any game they want (and if you were too late you can pay $5 for any mini RP2040 board and have a modchip to do the same). As soon as a physical cartridge becomes available, either through vendors who sell copies too early or reviewers or whatever, a game can be dumped. Since most games are usually shipped to a location a few days before launch, it's pretty easy for anyone working at one with a readily available modded Switch to just dump the game and throw it online.

Whereas with Sony, you can't dump a PS4/PS5 games unless you have keys for the latest firmware it's playable on (which 9 times out of 10 it's whatever is latest when the game releases), and Sony doesn't fuck around with security anymore like the good ol' days so there's basically never been a hack available on the latest firmware during both the PS4/PS5's (so far) lifetime. You simply can't dump any new game during launch, whether you have it early or not. Even now, the latest public exploit for the PS5 is for a firmware version that's 2+ years old, and the next firmware likely to be exploitable is a year+ old, which means you won't even be able to pirate backup any game released in the last year+ because we still lack keys for those games.

Aren't cartridge dumps supposed to be XCI? The one I tested was NSP and even included the 1.1.0 patch Nintendo added to the preload.
That is 100% a converted cart dump. Yes you can convert xci to nsp. The signature becomes invalid tho so its not favorable for "collectors". The update is usually available before the game ever releases.

Any downside of dump with invalid signature in terms of usability?

I wonder who Nintendo will blame this time? Anyone but the leakers, it would seem.

Maybe they could at least release demos for their games, especially for the less traditional ones like Echoes of Wisdom and this Mario Party.

Seems like only the first few Mario Party games are worth playing anyway. Not that I've ever played them. You need friends for that.

I saw this game earlier today on the October releases and was surprised it hadn't leaked yet. A few hours later, my wish was granted LOL

Inside job. Likely a review copy dumped. Honestly? It’s so frequent that I don’t believe it’s unintentional..
The scene groups would release the game ahead of its retail date, by obtaining a copy of the game from a supplier who has it in their hands, or from somebody who works close, like a game store who has launch day copies already.
