Dynasty Warriors... It just feels all the same.

However, I did have a blast playing Hyrule Warriors on the Wii U, that was awesome.

Persona, Xenoblade, New Zelda and New Monster Hunter games
Man, I remember trying to play Xenoblade Chronicles X on the Wii U and the damn text was way too small, it's like they made it to be played on a PC than a console.

Final Fantasy. I've tried quite a few of them but they're never all that fun to me. I finished a few of them then regretted the amount of time I spent playing a game I wasn't enjoying.
Post automatically merged:

Soulslike games, including Sekiro, Elden Ring, etc.
I love them but don't have enough time to get good enough to make progress in them.

And yes, With the naughty parts :shy::evil::blush:

The witcher. I also have the trilogy collecting dust.
Zachtronics' programming games. Ive got a few I love, but the more classic programming ones I just postpone.
Metroid prime. I just want the 2d ones. Tell myself I should give them a fair chance, but it just doesn't do it for me.
Metal gear solid, perhaps?
Pokémon is a maybe. I feel like I'm missing out on something I don't like. Then again: i don't know why i should catch an infinite number of stupid doodle.
The amnesia games. Iirc I also have three of those, but postpone it for a mood I'm never in.

Something I won't try: soulslikes. I'm glad they're a term, so i can easily dismiss them. I'm raising a child. Video games shouldn't be hard for me now.

I agree with this so hard. The windows of time I get for gaming need to have a return, I can't be spending it being owned and going to bed pissed off.

The 'naughty' parts were just two or three sexually themed minigames. One is pressing the buttons to ensure your doing the act correctly, one is cliché bdsm themed, and i can't recall the last one. I don't want to be prudish, but rockstar cut those from the game prior to release by themselves. It's an interesting playthrough to get just how prudish Americans are, but it's not much of aan achievement game wise.

The Kiseki (Trails) series. The latest games have really good music and cool robots, but Trails in the Sky is a painfully boring and dull game. I have the game several chances but it's just impossible for me to finish that snoozefest.

Just Cause

Almost any time you give me an action game I'll finish it, but I haven't never beaten one of these. I don't hate them but they're too long and I get bored and put it down and play something else.
Agreed. From the ones I've tried it's all same-y gameplay wise, mindless shoot & run gameplay experience, it's fun at first gets repetitive too quickly. Maybe only for short bursts, and not something you'd play for more than a hour.
Elder Scrolls and Fallout series

I can tell these are cool games but never gotten really far into any of them. I think the way they handle the rpg elements are a turn off for me, but I've beaten my fair share of rpgs.
How dare you!
Srsly, the amount of lore on those games is unmatched, gameplay & sense of immersion too.. If it's a difficulty issue, one could always lower the difficulty until he gets comfortable with the gameplay/mechanics etc. A warning though, they are lengthy and even more so with the DLCs.
Also if the vanilla experience of either of these games is unsatisfactory, there are always mods to "improve" it.
The Witcher. I have had the entire trilogy on my Steam library for years. I have heard they are great games and all, the setting definitely looks interesting enough for me, but for some reason they never seem to call for my name, Kek. Maybe one day, eventually.
The first 2're definitely rough in terms of gameplay. Even the 2nd one, which I tried many times, i find the combat just very clunky.
Iirc the first is being remade by CDPR, so im holding out for that instead.
With Pokemon games the older generation games are much better than current generation, I would recommend starting with gen 1 if don't want to try firered/leafgreen, try red/blue/yellow.
FR/LF over the OGs (when it comes to Gen1) unless one already experienced those and looking to play the OGs.
As for the Pokémon i'd recommend as entry point, either HG/SS (Geb2/4) or OR/AS/Emerald (Gen3).

The Witcher series. I own all of them and they play great on my Steam Deck. I've literally only played them for like 3 minutes at best.
3 is undoubtedly the best gameplay-wise, the first 2 are very clunky, stiff and overly complicated in comparison, wouldn't recommend those two as a starting point

Thanks for that. To be honest, the third game looks the most interesting to me, and I hear the gameplay of The Witcher 3 is about to be improved with some next gen enhancements.
