Hardware Wii system files corrupted any solutions?

I found a wii and all its corresponding cords while cleaning out a storage building but everytime I boot it up it shows the system setup stuff (like choosing a language and all that) and then cuts to black saying "The system files are corrupted." are there any fixes that are possible (if it helps im very sure it wasn't modded before hand)

Try entering maintenance mode by holding down - and + on the controller whilst powering it on.
 
It isnt showing anything different when I do it, it just shows the same system setup screen as before
Did you fully power it off first? Make sure you hold down POWER until the LED glows red, power it back on whilst holding - and +. If it doesn't show any effect, then try to see if you can boot into BootMii or Priiloader as boot2 if installed.

I can't get to the home screen because the error screen shows up while trying to set up the wii, I havent even gotten past tryin to choose the default language for the system
