Sure and people might think they are ok with black people ("I have a black friend, he's one of the good ones" for example), but don't want to live in an area with too many black people because they associate black people with crime.

That is what discrimination is.

You don't have to dress in a white robe and leave burning crosses on peoples lawn to be racist, you can also hold racial prejudices.
White people and their self-imposed guilt are very amusing to me. If you move into a black neighbourhood, that’s gentrification, so it’s racist. If you move out of a black neighbourhood (because they *are* affected by crime - not because they’re predominantly black, but because they’re usually in poorer and more densely populated urban areas) it’s white flight, and that’s racist too. Maybe you guys should make up your mind and decide if you want to intermingle or not. It would *only* be racist if you avoided the neighbourhood *because it’s full of black people*, the association with crime is a negative stereotype, but it’s also prudent if it’s true. If you think that strolling through a hood proves you’re an anti-racist, you are unnecessarily exposing yourself to danger, not because there’s a bunch of black people there but because it’s crime-ridden, and you know that. “I have a black friend” is a meme - clearly you don’t associate *all* black people with crime in this example, you just said as much. You associate poor neighbourhoods with crime, and the fact that there are black people there is incidental. Plenty of mansions out there inhabited by black actors or musicians, not a lot of crime going on there.

White people excusing their racist behavior using gas lighting isn't amusing to me.

You seem to be coming up with a lot of excuses.

Statitstics don't lie. In pretty much any country you go you can be assured that if there is a lot of black people in one area, there's a lot of crime.

Not all black people are criminals, but if you want to get murdered, shot, stabbed, robbed etc - there's a good chance you will do if you go to a built of area where loads of non-white people live.

Excuses such as “I know this neighbourhood is a high crime area, so I avoid it”? Yeah, that’s reasonable. It’s not because of black people, it’s because of crime. If black neighbourhoods are crime-ridden, it seems to me that the onus is on their inhabitants and on law enforcement to make sure that isn’t the case, not on me to be “anti-racist” and have a picnic there in spite of knowing they’re unsafe.

Or you could adopt political and economic views that reduce income disparity, increase access to higher education, and provide health care and basic universal income, all known to reduce crime rates in such areas.

I’m all for improving all of those factors, I just have vastly different ideas on how to achieve that, considering the experiment my opposition has been running for the last 60 years is not showing promising results. The proof is in the pudding - one of the biggest predictors of future criminal activity and drug abuse, single motherhood, is at an all-time high in black communities. Maybe if we stopped locking up black dads for a baggie of weed (as Kamala Harris did throughout her career) we’d make a difference. Maybe if we didn’t put so many roadblocks and red tape in the way, black people would be more inclined to participate in the marketplace as business owners and job creators, as opposed to wage slaves. Would be nice if they stopped burning those businesses down too. Different perspective, similar goals.
Neighbourhoods usually don't have their own police force
You’ve never seen a Neighbourhood Watch poster before, have you? I assure you, neighbourhoods that are not crime-ridden police themselves because they’re not afraid of talking on the phone with the authorities when they see something.

You're being ridiculous as always. Forcing black people into poverty and deprived areas and then saying that it's up to black people to sort themselves out, is as racist as you can be.

And shoot black kids who knock on the wrong door.

I didn’t do that and condemn that. I can still observe a trend over the years - black neighbourhoods have gotten worse, not better in regards to crime.
And shoot black kids who knock on the wrong door.
This argument is absurd. Statistics on rates of violent crime sorted by race of the offender and the victim are clear - black people are orders of magnitude more in danger of getting shot by another black person than by an assailant of any other race, or the police for that matter. They are, for the most part, killing each other. The reason why you hear about someone “shooting a black kid who knocked on the wrong door” on the news is because those cases are exceedingly rare, and society at large condemns people like that.

Your argument seems to be, white people get a free pass to kill black people because black people kill more black people than white people. You're ignoring why that happens. While you might claim that you condemn it. You make a big deal that trying to solve it is white people feeling guilty, you don't actually want to change it.

What goes on in your head dude, nobody is taking about killing anyone here - are you mentally unstable? You really should read the post you are quoting again, because it seems to have gone way over your head. Do you need pictures to explain statistics to you because any sense of logical thinking seems beyond your grasp.

I'm reading some of the posts on this thread and am trying not to laugh at just how stupid people have become in the west *snip!* Now I see why we humans as a race have wars, disease and famine - it's gods way of sorting out the wheat from the chaff.

*Careful now. Mod snip, reason for edit in notifications - Foxi4

Sure. Due to their flavour they’re generally better when processed, especially if mixed in with other apples. They’re great for jams. They’re not the only ones either, Rome apples are incredibly mushy and soggy unless cooked, most people find them unpleasant otherwise. Other apples are better raw, you don’t want to lose that juicy crisp. All apples can be good, and there’s nothing wrong with apple mixing. In fact, a pie, or a jam, or a sauce with just one kind of apples in it is kind of boring.
I've used premature apples for cider and those worked well for it

Are we *really* at the crime statistics stage of the conversation? Okay, you prompted this. It seems to me that you’re giving black communities a pass and passing the buck to white people. Statistics are clear, there were 2906 black victims of homicide recorded by the F.B.I. in 2019, 2574 of the offenders were black and 246 were white. That means 88.57% of the black victims were killed by a black offender. Meanwhile, there were 3299 white victims of homicide recorded in the same year, 2594 of which were killed by a white offender, which translates to a 78.62% rate. There’s a 10% disparity here that you refuse to account for - you’re more interested in the 246 victims killed by someone who was white than you are about the 10%, or 290 dead bodies that shouldn’t be there, all else being equal. The difference between white-on-white homicide rates and black-on-black homicide rates is *greater* than the number of all black victims killed by white people put together. If you truly care about black lives, you should address that. Not my numbers, by the way - the F.B.I. compiles those statistics - I can just put two numbers next to each other and point out which one is greater. You’re trying to put things I haven’t said in my mouth - I don’t want white people to shoot black kids who knock on the wrong door, and I’ve said as much. I also think that the number of times that happens annually is so infinitesimally small that it’s nothing but a distraction that prevents people from addressing the bigger issues.

You like’em young, huh? :creep:

I just, but it’s pretty cool that you made your own cider. I love me some cider.

The privileged rightwing instinct is to blame individuals and marginalized people for their plight and expect them to "lift themselves up by their own bootstraps", whilst simultaneously promoting laws and policies that create/maintain the systemic inequalities that lead to poverty and crime. It's a systemic issue, not an individual one. It requires changes in law, policy, and culture. That requires political action, education, job opportunities, and political, economic, and legal systems that help rather than hinder marginalized groups. But that sort of real world solution generally gets dismissed by people dogmatically committed to the religion of individual responsibility (whose success was largely on the backs of others, uncredited, of course). A Trumpian culture of corruption offers no solution.

Every single form of change, big or small, starts with the individual. You can advocate for changes in all of those facets of life until the cows come home, but unless the individual also wants to change, it is all for naught. It’s not one or the other, this isn’t a choice, you can do both.

EDIT: For the record, black unemployment reached the lowest point in recorded history under Trump. I guess this culture you speak of uplifted *some* people.

Yes, and we've seen what happened to Martin Luther King Jr. and others who tried to bring about social, political, and legal change. Supporting Trump harms marginalized groups and has led to a degradation of a variety of systemic reforms that were designed to help. Thus, it rings extremely hollow to claim to want to help people out of poverty whilst publicly promoting individuals who are actively working against that goal. Individualist ideology has a similar efficacy to prayer when it comes to realizing significant improvement of the quality of life of marginalized people. Bless your precious heart!

See edit above. I’m pretty sure reaching the lowest black unemployment rate in history and slashing their taxes helped some people out of poverty. That’s just math. If not for the outbreak of the pandemic (which is an external circumstance that can’t be accounted for in regards to economic policy), this trend would’ve continued. We can agree to disagree on that if you want, I don’t particularly care since it rolls back to the TCJA which, as I’ve said, was discussed to death already.

Nothing radical about enforcing the constitution, you just don't like that it's your guy that has run afoul of it.

no i agree nothing at all, there IS something radical about someone saying t hat they think trump should be grateful for * redacted statement so i don't get craiged* that should never be a thought you even have and the fact you do, means that you are in fact a radical. I would never wish that on any leader even ones i dont agree with, but then, im a well balanced human being ;)

Violation of the 14th Amendment carries with it a potential death sentence. It's fucking treason, not a difference of opinion.

I'd rather see him rot in jail for the few miserable years he has left, but it doesn't change the fact that his crimes do reach that level of severity.
