Just a simple question, I want to avoid the chances of my 3ds xl being bricked so I was just wondering if something like modding homebrew/hShop would require my 3ds to be connected to the internet (in which I believe that being connected would get my 3ds bricked).

hShop requires being online, obviously.

You can't get bricked by just being online, just make sure you use the recommended guide and not youtube videos and you should have no problems.

You know that mentioning ways to obtain warez, there is a chance that this can get removed by the mods.
I don't think so, after all we have a dedicated thread for NUSspli in the WiiU section and we also had an official thread for Freeshop when it used to work

its still was different from just directly handing you warez as this site does. freeshop was pushing it. this one is over that line.

@Tokiwa Its not about what you think, its about law. The law makes the rules whats allowed and whats not.
And providing copys of a copyright software is at any rate familiar forbidden. And software like USB-Helper or Nuspli simply doenst use illegal software or does something illegal as long as you own the original game and the desired key, in this case using keys from other sources is illegal again.

I'm not discussing about what is illegal or not, but what is allowed to talk about in this forums. I don't think it's wrong to just mention hShop while you have threads about tools that allows you to download content directly from Nintendo servers (and about the keys thing, WiiUDownloader already generates, its just download and play on Cemu).

If any staff member wants to draw a line and completly forbid to even talk about it, i won't complain. I'm just going by the assumption it's fine because of the other tools i mentioned. Until then i think it's totally fine but again is the staff who should decide.

No you won't get blocked however you should not worry because pretendo network can basically emulate the Nintendo network and you can still go online once you switch plus check out the Mario kart mod as well as Mario Maker fan lvls and even miiverse all are supported
