ive got a laptop with a USB C port on it, is there any way to use the PC as a dock and display on the monitor?
just to be clear - im NOT talking about a capture card - im looking for software for the PC that emulates the dock.
gotta mention that because ive seen a few reddit threads of someone asking the same thing, someone else suggesting a capture card and mods where just like "dumb answer of somewun hoo didnt even read wat dey sedd iz good enuff, bettr lokk ths down, herp-a-derp"

Nope, because your laptop hardware is not designed to take video input. So unless u use a capture card, u have to use mirroring SW like sysdvr to stream switch screen onto pc. and for the dock mode just use reversenx to flag games as docked mode

The Dock changes the mode the USB C connector uses to Display Port (DP). That’s what the simple hardware inside the Dock does. This is also what a Capture Card does in order to grab the video. A PC typically doesn’t have this hardware layer and would require additional hardware to accept DP. At that point you might as well buy a Dock.
