Soul Nomad on the PS2 came around the time I no longer have access to the PS2 console, in fact, I do believe I missed out on quite a number of great and niche titles in the year 2007 and beyond. It was annoying to see how fun Soul Nomad was and how similar it is to Disgaea 1 as I absolutely adored that game when it debuted in 2003; it was a refreshing take on the SRPG genre with a lot of customizations, it's even worst when I came to the realization that Soul Nomad is a spin-off much like Phantom Brave.
A few days back I received a newsletter from Play-Asia announcing NIS Classics Vol 1., usually I would delete off all these newsletters as I don't read unless the subject is catchy, I re-read "NIS Classics Vol 1." and I thought "NISA? Disagea? Classics?... Could it be one of those arcade classic from the 90s or something? But then I thought NISA don't have anything from the 90s (or not that I know of)"
Opened up the e-mail and boom:
It's a 2-in-1 cartridge deal, I was overwhelmed when I saw "Soul Nomad & The World Eaters" this comes together with the severely milked to death (next to Disgaea 1 I guess) Phantom Brave which I equally loved but I would have preferred Makai Kingdom but am hopeful to see it in a Vol. 2 or something?
Anyways, I have never felt happier, promptly pre-ordered a copy, summer is going to be quite a while but imagining myself spending hours in bed playing Soul Nomad, yes please!
