My life is in disarray. Total, complete chaos.
I got married almost a year ago, a little after that my mother-in-law was diagnosed with terminal Cancer. My wife got incredibly sad, as her mom only had a few months to live.
A year passed and our lifes, including my mother-in-law's were somewhat normal. Under heavy Quimo treatments seem that the day of saying goodbye to her would take a little longer.
As a divorced mother with only one child, she still lived where my wife grew up, a small town close to the bay. My wife and I live about an hour from there and we visited every weekend.
Then February 2012 came. She got somewhat sick, she could not eat and lost a lot of weight, she could still drive and do stuff. We were concerned but we thought it was the result of the last Quimo treatment and she would eventually would get better. She didn't.
A little before March she has hospitalized, they operated her for a blockage in her intestine and everything went to hell from there.
She was at the hospital for about a month. Her doctor told us that the only option was a Hospice.
And here we are. Unable to move, even to a chair next to her bed she is slowly and painfully dying at a Hospice, completely lucid and utterly sad.
Us, as the only direct family she has, are with her every day, both our lives seem in sort of a pause unable to plan or carry on with our daily lives. If we are not working at our full time jobs we are during there and keeping her company.
There is nothing we can do, my wife is seeing her mother get consumed by sadness and slowly and painfully die each day. This situation is the worst case scenario, very close to a nightmare.
Every day I try my best to be a confortin husband to a woman that didn't deserve this.
I just wanted to post this, I need to let this out.
