The color of a mirror

Many people have probably wondered what is the color of a mirror. Well, today I'm doing to tell you.

Short version: They're green.

Long version: So, people know that the color of an object is determined by what light they reflect. So, if this is the case, the naïve answer would be white. However, what most people don't know, is that mirrors actually absorb a bit of every light except for green. You can tell because if you put two mirrors facing each other, they become more green the more they reflect each other.

Anyways, I was bored, cya guys later

@hells malice yeah I'm the bitchy one. I'm not the one that just logged in and ragged on every thread I opened

WeedZ you better watch your salt levels buddy, they seem to be dangerously high.
Might want to consult a doctor.

Dio,
Trying so hard to impress the internet?

It does absolutely nothing. It serves no purpose. Even if you were telling the truth and this was your observation, you've gained nothing. A little praise from some random internet people? Perhaps it's my putting absolutely no value in the opinions of people online, but that seems like a pretty large waste of time and effort. On the assumption you're just regurgitating another source, well it's doubly pointless because any praise you would even get would be hollow and worthless in your own mind. Unless you were delusional.

This blog serves no purpose other than to flaunt your own apparent knowledge.

I find it amusing.

You asked me why I found it amusing m8. I responded.

and lol GhostLatte, you're beyond daft if you think I care.
My replies were meant for basically 2 people, both of whom likely read them.
Not to mention this is blogs. It's basically EoF2.

since lining up two mirrors is difficult, looking into the side of some mirrors will yield better results. depends on hoe the mirror is cut though.

You put your thoughts and opinions out in the open. The result is that people can comment back with their own thoughts on the matter as well.

I've done that once and the result was reddish. Honestly it depends a lot on the quality of the mirror and the materials used.

they're only green due to the fact that all mirrors have glass over them, and all glass has a tiny amount of green in it.

Maybe it's green scarf, and leafs that reflects when you trying to check a real color of mirror.

"You can tell because if you put two mirrors facing each other, they become more green the more they reflect each other."
That's because the glass is green tinted. The actual mirrors are still mirror-colored :P

Wait until you find out what color 'pink' is and the color of the atmosphere. Then it makes sense when you look at snow.

But those blue icebergs.

What @Orangy57 said, it's because of the silicon compound within the glass that causes it to be green, not the shiny metal underneath

We had our grandkids over yesterday and I got a small above ground swimming pool I filled for them to play in. Well today I woke to find 3 ducks swimming around in it. Don't mind really but they are annoyingly loud, quack quack. Gotta drain it today. Guess what were having for dinner, lol.

I used butter instead of vegetable oil, and think that's why they squirted out during baking, who knows

  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
plus if you're making brownies or lava cakes for people with dairy allergies, you should use oil instead of butter anyway

I make rum cake for 4th July every year, I make it a week prior and then soak it in rum in the fridge all week. I flip the cake each day, and add little more rum, it soaks it up everyday, so good.
