So pissed right now ... new Corona rules

Dang I am so incredibly pissed right now, Germany just decided their new Corona rules ... every state can kinda make their own rules again and they are even allowed to make masks mandatory outside again also they now force you to not only wear a mask in the airplane (which is proven to be stupid as the airplanes filter systems are so good that this is pretty much the savest place to be) no now we need to use ffp2 masks on all flights that go out of the country (funny enough not for short travel)

I really don't understand how this can be legal, those stupid politicians take our right of self-determination which is one of our fundamental rights :angry: and shit on it while they don't even do any of those things that are mandatory already.

Our awesome health minister who was always doing his best to cause panic and hate between people just got ill himself so yeah either his awesome rules don't work or he didn't do shit .... damn I usually don't wish anything bad to people but here I'd do an exception

Have been thinking about writing something very detailed in this regard since the beginning of the pandemic. With everything that happened this would almost be a novel by now. Starting with COVID-19, the actual underlying problems go way beyond and affect every part of private and non-private life.

The problem with the topic "COVID-19" is, that there is simply no way to discuss the politics around it in a critical way without triggering some dumb statements into the direction "conspiracy theory". Asking the question if some king of "Anti-Corona-Rules" are lawful, effective, appropriate and if possible side effects have been taken in account, is more or less blasphemy and a sacrilege.

If you start writing an essay, showing arguments in both directions, trading off things/facts/arguments against each other you will inevitably run into a trap called tl;dr. This leaves the absurd situation, that concise critical statements get torn apart with certain killer arguments which get repeated over and over again… while explaining a critical opinion in a way that makes using such phrases impossible, results in the text not getting read at all.

Here on GBAtemp I remember one particular thing which happened pretty early when more and more countries made questionable laws. Can't find it anymore. I was an idiot for not bookmarking the shameful reaction on that thread. It was a prime example for people being brainwashed. The topic was something like: "Are all rules limiting our freedom justified?" Some of the first replies was something like:
"Corona dangerous!! Save lives! All rules justified! /end thread"
That ↑↑ is obviously not a quote. Just the part "/end thread" mimicking BBCODE ending a section, is in fact a quote. The post got several likes, including from at least one staff member (my memory is a bit blurry, could be wrong). The attempt to even stop a discussion before it started was quite shocking – and exactly what I've seen and heard everywhere around. People should not even discuss! Likes for murdering any discussion!

Without going into detail and therefore the tl;dr trap, I can now, after years of COVID-BS say that many of my predictions (which where reason enough to ridicule me in real life) came true and people simply forgot what they said before. What 20 years of terror-hysteria prepared was very easy to complete in no time thanks to a new enemy.

=====Examples from fiction=====

Star Wars is just a series of entertaining SciFi-Fairy-tales, but there is a single scene in Star Wars Episode 3 that impressed me right when I heard it the first time. When the emperor actually makes himself emperor and gets enormous applause. Sadly I don't have the English quote available in my brain. Padme: "So geht die Demokratie zugrunde: Mit donnerndem Applaus!"

In the year 2020, I re-read George Orwell's "Nineteen Eighty-Four" which had left a permanent impression on me when reading it as a teenager end of the 1990s for the first time. Teenage Sinchen was scared of the book and said: "Thankfully this nightmarish dystopia is exaggerated beyond believe!"
In 2020, the first two parts of the book looked more like an accurate prediction that a dystopia. The third part, with the physical torturing on the other side, was too harmless. Yes. As extreme and disgusting the detailed description of physical torturing is/was, it is too harmless. Because in reality this is not even needed! Everything "The Party" and "Big Brother" wants to achieve, they can without breaking the will using violence against the body. Mind control is so advanced that torturing is superfluous.

Idiocracy. I can keep this one short: Painfully accurate.

==================

"Freedom" is just a buzzword itself. Just pointing to constitutional rights and saying freedom is not sufficient. What has happened to "democratic" countries in the last two decades is a disaster which cannot be adequately described in a short comment (and yes, this few paragraphs which most likely already are above the tl;dr border, are waaaaay toooooo short to even get started).

Yeah I was actually writing open for all messages on Facebook after like only about half a year after the shit started trying to discuss things with people and showing OFFICIAL ! statistics showing who is actually in danger and why it doesn't make sense for most healthy young people to get scared to much but I was also called lots of bad things over the years and noone ever even tried to prove me or better the official numbers wrong.

Funny enough even though the official numbers said something different the broad media only reported the bad stuff never even tried to mention the "good / less bad" things at all.

Oh yeah and as a German a German quote is no problem for me to understand ;)

I really don't get it how not even the law seems to want to prevent people like Lauterbach (german health minister) to abuse his power with those rules taking away part of our fundamental rights which are supposed the be the most important thing there is.

Lately I notice more and more of those people calling others "schwurbler" "querdenker" "nazi" or whatever start to kinda switch and are also getting pissed at those unresonable rules and many people start not caring for those rules anymore like not using masks in trains and such but then again worst case the Government has the power to take all your money and or put you into prison if you don't "behave" so yeah ... I am really thinking of not wearing a mask at my next flight as there is no scientific reason at all to wear a mask in an airplane but if the plane won't start because of me it will probably ruin me for the rest of my life .... :(
