Salutations once again my dear acquaintances!
And another entry of the uninteresting adventures of your truly...
Remember Charles? Today, I got an unknown call. It's in my nature to avoid unknown or private calls like the Bubonic Plague, so I didn't answer it. The phone stopped ringing, but soon enough, it rattled once again. Persistent little fella aren't you? I ignore it again. Thrice, and it shaked, rattled, and rolled. I give up. I answered the phone, and I was sure I recognized that same husky ruff n' tuff voice. It was Charles! Yes, that Charles! So good of you to call! I probably didn't mention this before, but I did give him my phone number if he ever needed help.
As you may or may not remember, I treated Charles to a burger, and $50 pocket money. Turns out, he used that money to track down his parents. He made phone calls on payphones and took bus rides until he finally found his parents he has been seperated for ten years. His parents took him in with open arms and helped him in his time of need. Turns out Charles now has a stable job working as a fast food joint. He admits that it isn't the best job, but he was ecstatic when he received him first paycheck. He assured me that he wasn't in any need for more help. Charles said he called me because he wanted to thank me for everything I've done for him. He said I was an inspiration and I was the reason he is where he is today.
Hearing something like that really pulls on your heartstrings. Knowing you helped someone turn their whole life around for the better, well, it really touched me right there. It's strange making a difference. I was never the kind to ever make anything significant. An "average joe" if you will. Although, after doing all this for a an individual, I feel like I'm a little bit more-than-average.
Well with that, I conclude.
Have a grand ol' time fellas!
