New game

So I've been working on a new game lately, titled A.R.I.D. (Which stands for Apocalypse Rescue & Investigation Division). It's a top down shooter/role playing game hybrid, kind of like Borderlands or Fallout 3/New Vegas.

Anyway, I was hoping you guys could try the demo I have up now, give some feedback, suggestions, etc.

Here are the controls:
WASD - Move player
Mouse - Aim
Left mouse button - Shoot
Right mouse button - Aim/Alt fire for certain weapons, such as the Shade Jar
Shift - Open weapon select menu/Close text boxes
Space - Use/Interact/Talk
R - Reload
F1 - Open console (Firing Range only)
F2 - Close console (Firing Range only)
Enter - Execute code in console (Firing Range only)
U - Restart Room (Will be removed when game is complete)
Y - Restart Game (Will be removed when game is complete)

Download from Host-a.net
Play instantly on YoYoGames

Now, here's some screenshots so you can get a feel of the game before downloading:

Eheheheheh....This is what happens when you do global.weapon = 99 in the console.

Have fun with the demo...I'm hoping to hear some feedback.

Game Maker 8 Pro

Not a glitch, I had it in there for testing. Will remember to remove it for the next update.

EDIT: Forgot to add controls to the first post, so I updated it with them.

It looks great!....but my internet's so slow that that the download keeps timing out...

Umm...I can't really tell 'cause I'm only looking at the screenshots...but it looks like you have the settings that tell the game to interpolate colors between pixels turned off. I don't know if you already tried it and didn't like how it looked or what...but in case you didn't know about it, you should try it 'cause it makes the rotation of the sprites look smoother. You set it in the game options.

If it's checked, the edges that become pixely when rotated become a lot smoother.

I tried it, and honestly, I think it looks better without it. Probably because the player sprites are small, but oh well.

i tried out all the guns :3
just a note :
- reduce the Gatling gun damage . it has a lot of bullets AND is overpowered :P
that's just for balance anyway .
- make the acidifier slow the zombies rather than kill them instantly

hmm. . . that's all i got so far .

Ah, okay. I just wanted to point it out in case you didn't know of it.

I still haven't been able to download it. (stupid internet) :hateit:

So today, I've been working on the online multiplayer. I uploaded a demo with it, and so far, you can connect to someone else (Through IP addresses), and just walk around. Shooting is glitchy, and it doesn't update on the other person's screen yet (Too lazy to put it in ATM...Lol).

Okay, I've added quite a few things since I last posted. Download the demo from the link in the first post and try it out. Lots of new features, as well as a few new weapons.
