Today I'll talk about my experience on twitch. So yeah, twitch is a wonderful gaming platform were people can stream and interact with people without problem, or is it really without problem? Here is some problem I quicly found after 1 month of streaming:
- If you have 1 monitor, it's really hard to interact with people (But well, I integrated a workaround the bot ^^)
- Command from bot like Nightbot are tied to everything exept follower and donator (wich again, I made a work around for that)
- It's really hard to get known since the big streamer alway shadow the smaller one (and this is a problem for new streamer, including me)
So how I did fix the first 2 problem? Well solution wasn't hard, Twitch support 3 programmation language :
- Java
- Python
- Javascript
I used java to make a bot wich actually do more than any regular bot out there, it's also a screen overlay that get message and show it in-game, here is a preview of of it look :
So yeah, what you see here is a screen overlay and not a dumb OBS overlay that make the illusion to see the chat in-game. It wasn't hard to implement, but it required some time since I had 0 knowledge on how work twitch bot. Now this bring me to the second point : What I did to change the role system?
So first thing I'll say on that, the system I made is still in developpement and have some bug. So since nightbot doesn't allow follower to directly do !songrequest, I changed the songrequest to be a mod only thing. You may ask why? Well, the bot is a mod and will actually do the songrequest for you, sadly to be able to request a song you must follow... Well, you must follow to use any basic command actually

Tough there is still 1 problem wich I can't get trough... How do you advertize without getting hate? Without doing cancer thing on other page? This is the problem for all new streamer, like me ^^
So yeah, this was a long blog entry (at least for me), but it's all I wanna say for now about my twitch experience. If you wanna visit my channel, I'll leave the link here.
