I quit

I am giving up on homebrew development. It has been nothing but a nightmare since day 1. I have installed what is needed and have tge proper libraries but still get error upon error and cant even make the examples. I am very discouraged and annoyed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

BASIC, Visual BASIC, GWBASIC. Ive been reading and going along with C and C++.

I have downloaded devkitPro, ctrulib, citra, sf2dlib, imagemagick and everything else i have read on here and still get errors while trying to compile the examples.

If I recall correctly, the examples use C/C++. As those languages are closer to the hardware than BASIC, it would benefit you greatly to learn them. It will take patience to get to the stage where you can develop homebrew. While you're learning, I'd suggest looking at popular examples of current homebrew. In any case, mudassirul is very correct.

Its not the languages im having trouble with, its the installation of the proper libraries. I can learn C and C++ fairly quickly as i was in IT for 3 years in school. But, for example, i downloaded the sf2dlib and when i go to install it i get errors.

Post the errors you get when compiling examples. It might be a simple fix, but nobody will be able to help you with it without knowing what actually happens.

Going to add a plus to the the Linux suggestion. Just a better environment for programming.
And also suggest you post your logs and errors so we can help narrow down the issue.

Righy now im just trying to get it all set up and installed. DevkitPro is installed, imagemagick is installed. The have ctrulib but i cant get sf2dlib working. Ive tried compiling the 24 bitmap example and keep getting errors.

As I said above, you need to post what the errors are. Nobody is going to be able to help you unless you're more specific about what is actually happening.

Just to let you know, thread watchers aren't notified of edits to posts. So if you're adding information, it's better to put it in a reply to the thread rather than editing an existing message with the info you're adding.

From the looks of the error, you've got a problem with the setting of the path for devkitPro. /devkitPro is the location for Linux and MacOS. On Windows, the path is different (but I don't know what it is as I don't use windows).
