I got a job~

Long time no speak.

Anyway, hi.

So, I will cut to the chase, I got a job doing a bunch of things at my Dad's client's office furniture factory. It is 10 hours a day for $10/h. And Friday is optional and 5 hours and$15/h(Over time). Anyway, I'm doing it sincew I figured having money is good. I need a new laptop, want a 3DS. iPhone 5.. Et cetera.

I've done things like build drawers, I've done office work, and the likes.

Honestly, it isn't easy... Since y'know, I'm a wimp, haha. But the money is worth toughing it out over.
Seriously, before tax it is like... $100 a day.

The employees look at me like I'm crazy though... And yes, I'm the youngest. I like the people in the office, they're nice. And everybody else is Mexican or Frnech(the wokers who are in the factory) so I can't speak to them, due to language. But meh.
I have got quite close to my boss, I sat next to him all day today since I was filing papers, we spoke quite a lot, and somehow it came up in coversation that I hate Android, so he jokingly calls me "Android". Pet names, haha.

I don't have many complaints besides that ithe hours are long.

So, I like my job. Never thought I would enjoy office work.
Most of the people in the factory part are tough and scare me though, haha.

Anyway, I might be here a bit less. [shamelessplug]But, you can always follow my Twitter(s) and see what I'm always up to~ Since I bring my iPod touch to work and they have WiFi, so yeah. Www.twitter.com/ifish12

it's good that you are actually working to get the money
instead of being a spoiled child who gets everything he wants from his parents!

Costello, this sounds like a thread I was reading a minute ago... rofl.

iFish, grats on the job! Yeah, having money is fantastic (please, don't be like me and spend it a lot though... invest it, save it, whatever...)

And it works great to put yourself out there, take the extra step and initiative and impress those in a higher position. It will eventually come back to help you. I don't think you guys have them in Canada, but here in America there is a big, nationwide department store called Target, if you haven't heard of it. Got a job there almost a year ago, and through trying to impress the managers by working hard and being responsible, I have gotten on great terms with the electronics manager and am getting a promotion to electronics soon. So what they really is true. Hard work DOES pay off. Hopefully you can find something to do extra well in the office and impress your boss that much more. Though it may suck to have extra work, the "Is there anything else you want me to help out with?" is a great way to show that you're looking to go above and beyond.

Thanks, Costello!

And yeah, I will be getting that Mac. It just makes me happy. ^~^

I bet he will still get a lot from his parents.

ANyway jobs are good and you're getting a damned good rate for it. I get £5.30 an hour for my job at a newsagents (which is around $8.24 CAD) and I'm 18 so just got a pay rise (was previously at £4.30 an hour). You're getting more than me D: Hope you don't use it all to buy various expensive electronics though. SPend it on being social too!
